Totally agree with everything said. Fabulous job, Damien. Really engrossing and touching stories, very well put together doco and D's calm narration was perfect. ;D I have no problem with the medical procedures (I was an operating theatre nurse for a while) , but kids are special. Love it!

Damien's soothing tones made watching those sometimes torturous scenes bearable! Just! (Damien why couldn't you have been narrating some cuddly animal show!! ) I'm hoping that they will show more of Damien interacting with the families later in the series, from the interview today it seemed like he came on as a narrator, then his role grew! Well done Damien!!!! Congratulations!!

I haven't watched it yet. I'm going to watch it soon and it looks like it was a big success, which I knew it would be. I'm not sure I'll be able to watch the surgeries either. We'll see. I did read a really great review that daughter found. It's probably somewhere on the site but I'm not up to searching at the minute so I'll add this link here just in case (move it if not appropriate please mods): www.theage.com.au/news/tv-reviews/saving-kids/2008/02/06/1202233917139.htmlI also watched Damien on 9am With David & Kim and it was a really excellent interview. Heaps of time which is not surprising now that Ch 10 are promoting Saving Kids. ;D Really looking forward to seeing tonight's show. Go Damien! You're so

Thanks LD!
Wow, that show is quite amazing and very emotional to watch. I think Damien gives it a lovely presence, it's nice to have a male host this sort of show for a change, and to see him relating with the kids (in the video for the song). Damien gives it just the right touch of hopefulness and compassion. I can't wait to see it next week too ,the kids are just incredible, OMG what they go through, as he was saying in the ads, what incredible bravery they and their families show!!

Like everyone else . I really loved the show. It is not my usual sort of program, but I felt that Damien did an excellent job with his narrating, his enunciation very clear and his compassion shone through. ;D The kids are parents are brave and it really was moving when cuter little Lewis's brother and sister said what their jobs were.( Hugs and kisses and the bone marrow) The dedicated doctors and nurses who save these kids have my utmost admiration also. I couldn't watch the very graphic surgery they showed of poor little Grace either, but at least we know that the outcome is positive.I am looking forward to the next show, Damien is only going to go from strength to strength I am sure. Congratulations Damien.

I could not believe what they were doing to little Grace - I was in total shock Lewis is just the most loveable happy little boy - I could just pick him up and give him a big hug. His smile would brighten up anybody's day and it was hard to believe that he was very ill. I loved listening to Damien's voice and would like to congratulate him on a job very well done.

OK so the show is almost over. I handled the first part, the introduction to the kids. I can handle the preps for the surgerys and I can handle looking at the young kids while theyre still in bed. The surgeries are scareing me though. I can listen to the sounds, but even those are making me teary. I can do it though. I think. I used to be like that too Neski until I started watching RPA. At first I used to cover my eyes until the graphic bits were over. Then I realised how much I was missing out on, seeing all the amazing things those surgeons do. Now I just look at it from their perspective - it's much like a mechanic working on a car engine, only the nuts and bolts are replaced with bones and muscle and lots of other bits and pieces. There are still a few things that make me cringe from time to time but that just makes me marvel even more at the amazing miracles those doctors perform. I enjoyed last night's show and am looking forward to following the progress of those brave little people and their families. Congratulations Damien on being associated with such a worthwhile program - you did great! ;D
