I was blown away when Damien sang Nessun Dorma the first time during Idol because of his short prep. time and he had never sang in Italian before. It was fabulous, the issues mentioned here notwithstanding
I've never cried before at any performance by anyone but I did the night Damien sang Nessun Dorma at the Opera house. It was superb. I imagine the fact that I loved Damien by then (such charisma!) contributed to my emotion but I would have felt incredibly uplifted anyway.

Hello, At least the judges did not tell Paul Potts that he was butt ugly and to pull his teeth out with pliers. They heard a lovely voice and gave it the credit it deserved. Nixter Too true Nixter! ;D and how wrong were our judges too! There is nothing ugly about Damo! he's beautiful on the inside and outside!

Have a look at this ... Someone has commented on the American Idol forums "Sorry if this has been posted here before but here's two *amazing* videos from the British talent show worth looking at: Paul Potts sings opera (a star is born): youtube.com/watch?v=i0dzZTPWrSM That Puccini aria is the same song that Damien Leith, an Ozzy transplanted Irish Tenor, sang to win Australian Idol ..." For furthur and continued discussions of Paul Potts and his performance of this song, and any other relative talk please refer to the Paul Potts thread located in Music Discussions to lighten the multiple thread load. Thank you. Neski xx
