Not sure how many of you managed to download Damien's original song "Bigger Plan" when he was offering it on his myspace site. *First night off the plane, things are not the same, I'm thinking ....I really like the composition of this piece - how it kind of ebbs and flows. Damien comments as follows about this: "Bigger Plan I wrote during my travels through India/Nepal. The trip just opened my eyes and I felt like I'd grown so much through the experience; it was mind blowing." edit - www.megaupload.com/?d=32DV0RPS

That's interesting Dede! I took it to be about arriving in Aus...seemed very appropriate! As I've said elswhere I LOVE this song! As you say, it ebbs and flows, beautiful lyrics, haunting melody. An extremely well crafted song.

I downloaded all four of the songs available from his my space site in early October after having a listen. What I really enjoyed was that they were all so different. I like the questions that he raises in the song and it's interesting to listen to it after 'These Days'. I like the songs that he wrote when he was at a crossroads in his life; nice to have them as a contrast to the romantic ballads.

Bigger Plan was one of the first of Damien's songs I heard from his original myspace - I loved how it told a story of a certain moment and draws you in to the emotion of that time. One of my early favourites.

I love this song too but you'd be a FOOL if you thought I wouldn't love all of Damien's songs!

I've been looking for this song and I only just found it yesterday at the megaupload link ^, so I downloaded it. I like the tune, the lyrics and the guitar playing (Damo's acoustic stuff rules!), it's a good song.

;DWow tks dede, that's grt . Really love the acoustic guitar and the strenghth of his voice....so true and love how it tells of an emotional realization....a difficult style of song, but very Damo. Agree, doubt that I would ever dislike one of his songs and certainly always love his voice.

*snap* W, I was listening to this on my Ipod walking into work yesterday and hadn't listened to in months and was thinking what a great song it is and what a pity it would be if it wasn't on the album recorded properly in the studio with all the multi-tracks and polished .... *sigh*

Yeah, this is one I can really "hear" working on the album... something like the version we already have but with all the advantages that money can buy. I kind of think it would make a nice first track, given the lyrics and the fact that it's nicely moody but still kind of upbeat.

He said neither Bigger Plan nor These Days were on the new album but he did hold out hope that they might be B sides to later released singles, as "none of the B sides will be on the album" - which suggests that Song for Jarvis and Who You Are will not be on the new album either (more royalties for DL that way and more songs for us yay)
