I love this song. I've found that I'm listening to this the most from the single - maybe because it's new? Anyways, I think it is really well done, and I'm glad that it's there, and hopefully it is on the the play list at the concert and that I get to go Ditto Neski lurve this one! Love the tempo changes & the rockier feel...love it all! Spud...did D say this was recorded in Ireland? When did he do that?

It's taken me a while to get into this song, initially I felt D was a bit drowned out by the music (I have no idea about music, but just love hearing Damien's voice). However, I discovered this morning at the gym that it makes a great workout song!!! I was listening to it on my ipod and it was a really good rhythm for running! So there you go, Damien now has a workout song! The other songs are great inspiration for workout (ie: losing kilos so love handles do not feature if hugging D again!!! )

It's taken me a while to get into this song, initially I felt D was a bit drowned out by the music (I have no idea about music, but just love hearing Damien's voice). Darren's revenge, perhaps? Good note about the working out, D is so skinny you wouldn't want to lose him in a hug, just don't buff up the arms too much or you might squish him in a death-grip! The more I listen to this song, the more I love it. You can tell it's Damien's older style, it's a bit more petulant than his current 'contented father era' works. It sounds a bit like a more-polished, less-offensive 'Fool', especially when he repeats the line 'you'll hear me sing again', and says 'the past is best left back there. I imagine this was written around the time of Fool after the US fiasco. It's very powerful, I just love it! It might be prophetic, too. Do you think Australia is the place Damien was thinking of when he wrote the lines "where children run and play/ Oceans wash and sway/ Where you can see yourself and know/ who you are" ?

i haven't read the other posts here - but just got to say i absolutely love this song. it's definitely my favourite on there. i was playing it full blast in the car today and it blew me away. the lyrics describe just where i'm at right now and the song itself is etched in my brain. it was playing over and over in my head last night as i was trying to sleep. it's just such a vibrant and positive and alive song
i can't get anymore technical than that. and i was wondering how come it was recorded in Dublin too

Yes it says it in inside the cover and D also told me in a PM a little while before it was released. Unfortunately I don't still have the PM because I accidentally pressed the 'delete all' button (stupid thing doesn't even ask for confirmation, it just deletes all your messages). But from memory he just said that it was a rocky version that he recorded in Ireland and that he hopes I like it (because I said that I liked the snippet we heard in the video blog). I don't know which version I like better. The acoustic one is nice but since I've only heard a bit of it I like the recorded version better at the moment. I just realised that I've only listened to the CD once so far. Gotta listen some more!

I definately like the rockier version better (but - hey- the acoustic one is niiiiiiiiice too! ;D)
Another question...when it says (control) after D's name as the writer of the song, does that mean, if it's a co-write (which these aren't...) then that person had the "control" ie contributed the main part of the song writing ?

It might be a Leith family collaboration - I think Sky was too, not sure if it has the same credit. I did the same thing Crazy - it's definately a song to hoon around to, isn't it? ;D

It was recorded here? Cool! ;D I really liked this when I heard the preview, and was surprised by the rockier vibe it has now.. I also felt like D's voice was being drowned out by the music.. But I've listened to it a couple of times (only on iTunes, 30 seconds ) and I love it ... Another Damien classic!

Control is the name of Damien's rights management company ie music publishing rights.
