Damien's Top 5 Idol Performances!

Yes, I know it's hard to narrow the list down to 5, because Damien was consistently great every week(even with 'Celebration').
My rankings would be:

1. Crying(I dare anyone to find a more perfect vocal performance)

2. Wicked Game(because this was a real turning point for Damien, after the hammering he took, undeservedly, for 'Celebration' the previous week. Our man delivered, and proved Mark & Kyle wrong.).

3. Nessun Dorma, especially the Opera House performance - it was a risk, but Damo pulled it off, and proved he has one of the best voices ever heard in this country, in any form of music.

4. Waiting On An Angel(it brings tears to my eyes every time I watch Damien's performance)

5. Message To My Girl(what I love about that is Damien at the piano, singing those words to his lovely wife).

Oh god...ok...IF! i had to narrow it down to 5, my top 5 would be:

Unchained Melody
Hallelujah
Nessun Dorma
Crying
Wicked Game

But i love ALL!! the songs to bits!! . I'm loving them all more and more each day ;D

3. Nessun Dorma at the Opera House, although it didn't have the emotional impact, because the second time we knew he could do it.

You know, questions like this could make my head explode! I really don't think I could do it.

My reaction to Damien's performances each week was this:

"OMG fantastic - he can't be better!!!"

then the next week -

"OMG, he was even better!! OK, he can't get better next week!!"

then the next week -

"OMG - he was even better!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

This basically happened every week for me - just couldn't believe it all went so well every week!

OOH I just checked my ITunes playcount column (nb this is on my computer with stereo srruound sound, so is not the one on my Ipod, which I use in the car and when doing exercise/walking/shopping).

I was kinda surprised by the result, but here it is:

1. Nessun Dorma (100!)
2. Crying (93)
3. Hallelujah (92!)
4. Creep (89)
5. Unchained Melody (86)

That actually does suprise me, in that on my Ipod when I last checked the playcourt was very different (probably has to do with needing to bop along). Probably has something with the stereo sound - and slightly longer number of weeks.

I'm pretty sure teh Ipod itself went something like

1. Creep
2. Wicked Game
3. Hallelujah
4. Crying
5. Never Meant to Fail/With or Without You (can't recall)

That's really interesting to go by the iTunes playcount - my top Idol Performace ones on my playcount are

1: Sky
2: Message To My Girl

5: Crying


which surprised me because I feel like the one I play most is "Waiting on an Angel" - maybe I just play that one in the car more. ;D
