This is interesting: Thread on the Idol ForumsIts a thread explaining the official fan clubs being set up for Dean, and the remaining 2 Idols... some highlights: My name is Marc and I am the fan club manager and I am writing to tell you that the fan club is 100% official and legit...
The fanclub has been an idea in the making for over 2 months now and all plans have been finalised between myself and Caplice Management who is the management company that will be managing the careers of Dean and the final two Idols. The purpose for the pre-planning was to ensure that we could launch each fan club straight after the conclusion of each idol being eliminated. The other fan clubs will obviously therefore launch directly after the show on Sunday November 26. Looks like they will be setting up forums too etc..... and it costs money, $30...... Thoughts? |

It sounds like the membership fee covers forum and other stuff....'exclusives', photos, messages etc...

yeah, I love our little place here too  But I guess D is going to be bigger than Ben Hur, and needs something....bigger? I hope his family will still pop in here from time to time though....  |

Neski, we dont do anything at this stage... the guy running it says that the ones for the final 2 will be launched right after the November 26 show... so all we do is wait, then pay (as if anyones going to have cash left by then!!) ;D the guy posting in that thread did say this about the Dean fan forum: Please rest assured that we thing DeanGeyer.net is a great website all on it's own as well and we dont intend to take anything away from it and this site certainly doesnt do that - if anything, this fan club can help to grow it. We support all fan sites within the site with links and obviously chat within the forums and there will be fan site competitions etc. We're not here to take anyones storm - we're all about the fans and thats our intention. We want Dean Geyer UpClose to be the place you can go and follow Dean's careerSo I guess that will be the same for us? As long as our members dont forget us, we will be right!!  |

How could we forget this place?! Surely after Damien leaves Idol and becomes a big star, he will be allowed to talk to his fans as much as he wants, so he might pop in here, since he posted here before...? What I like about this place is that it isn't part of the Idol money-making machine, everyone here, though they may like other Idols as well, is devoted to Damien over all, and everyone is here because they genuinely love our man, to share info and opinions and generally have a good time! What I'm trying to say is, I don't like the commercialism; I don't like the idea of having to pay to pick someone (as much as I like Damien!), when we could get videos and pics for free on the idol site before anyway, and the company here is so nice, no flaming or anything. Most of us liked him even before he made the top twelve!We are kind of the superior pioneers when it comes to liking Damien! ;D Does that mean when the show ends, you'll start charging too, Neski?  |

bwahahahaha Neski, you should totally start charging I've invited the guy posting the info on the Dean one to come over here and fill us in himself on whats happening. I guess if they value the existing fan clubs, they will come let us know.... |

I'll never forget this place ... this is like our "Damien home" if you know what I mean. I'll do anything to support Damo too, so if it means paying $30 I'll be there as well. But I'll always be part of the furniture around here.
