Classy Idol?

I never thought it was possible, but the Australian Idol 2006 winner (a 30 year old Irish man named Damien Leith) has just released what must be the classiest debut single by an Idol winner ever.

It's called "Night of My Life" and while the lyrics veer into cheese territory (with a title like that how could it not?)...classy production and Damien's stellar vocals turn the song into something better.

It's like James Blunt and Damien Rice made sweet sweet love and spawned a 30 year old man.

And while we are on the subject of Damien, I suppose I should admit that I'm "verybusy" with him.

I don't know who this person is, but I like them! Classiest debut single ever is exactly what I would say! Cheesy lyrics aside, it's a song that people will still like in a couple of years' time.

Lol, this is becoming a NOML appreciation thread but who's complaining I LOVE that song too! And the amazing thing is I didn't when I heard Jess do it, much as I like her - it sounded just like another Idol winner song - bring on Damien - his warmth and arrangement made that song beautiful!

I think Damien could sell millions of CDs in the U.S. He is far superior to anyone on the last series of American Idol. ;D
