Ooooh - totally loved this clip! Love that urban angst yet hope, and the giving of the guitar to the guy in the party hat! Reminded me a little of U2's "Stay" video with the parallel lives going on invisible to one another as they all inhabit the same street.
Wow you're fast, winter - pretteh already!!!

Just watched the video the slow way via dial up phone [ takes about 45 minutes as it pauses every ten seconds for a refill]. Liked the construction - the anti glamour movement from dark to light to light in dark. The twist at the end is good but will it get edited out or over as usually happens on video shows.

a tip for everyone with dial-up (I have it too) - I start loading the video, then press "Pause" on the controls. Then the video totally loads up over a few minutes. Once the bar is full, just press play again and it plays perfectly, without further skipping or buffering

I just loved it! Damien is such a pro considering this is his first video and he looks wonderful. I also loved seeing the old terrace houses in the background. It's a great combination of old Sydney and our new Irish talent in Damien Leith.

I really like this video. It has a charm about it. And makes sense with the song. Unlike most videos today. Their just plain weird. And as debut idol video clips. That and "What About Me" are my equal favs by far. Well done Damien. And yeah the ending made me really think about the whole video again. It's a great twist.
[Edit] I just rewatched the video. And one tiny thing gets to me. I don't like how the guitar seems to appear and disappear from his hands without warning. I would have prefered him seeing it just sit there on the little ledge (where we first see the guitar) andhim pick it up. Maybe with a tiny look for a second of "why's there a guitar here. Strange. Oh well, I'll play it anyways." ANd he should have held it the entire time till he gave it away.
I know that was really picky. But on the whole I really like the video still.

Thoughts on D's video...just saw it on Rage... OMG! Those street are about 2 blocks away from me...used to walk there with the pram heaps... Very "Damien-like"...understated and beautiful to look at Not sure about the extra folk in the background...have never seen another Idol video so didn't know about the Idol couple... Fav bit...playing the guitar under the tree... In a word..."FUNTARSTIC"

Just saw it on tv (had probs with the online version). It's cool! But I must have looked away coz I missed the "surprise twist ending". I did catch the shot of them all looking at damien on a screen at the end so I guess that's something to do with it???
Oh well, I'm sure it will be on again.

There's so much pretteh in the video and I feel bad because my first thought was, "my gosh that coat's great, I want that coat" and my second thought was, "what a beautiful guitar, mine looks like utter crap compared to that." Then all of a sudden my brain clicked on and I realised how frigging fabulous the video is, I definitely need to make caps of it to turn into a sig.

Great job, and thanks for the link dededom No probs - except that I still haven't seen it because i can't get it to work on my home computer {which isn't as whizz bang as my one at work ie i can't see all the pictures here}, and I missed this morning's Rage/Video Hits because i had to drive over to my ex and pick up my kids, and we have been out all day at the beach and friends house for BBQ, and now finally nearly everyone is in bed (+1 for a sleepover too) so 4 kids nearly to bed so I can start to faff around with the technology!!(*$(*$. still, I've got Celebrate playing in the back ground so that ought to perk me up!

Well, after having posted this for everyone on Friday night, and not having the technology to work on my home computer, and having missed Video Hits and Rage because of young munchkins, and finally having a moment now to enjoy this over my morning coffee at work, I have finally seen the video. I like that it/he didn't try and take itself/himself too seriously.
