Anything officially yet from ARIA on this? After reading that 'The Winner's Journey' has sold something like 200,00 copies already in just a few weeks of release and it's been certified 4X platinum, you'd think Damien is a serious contender for the 'No 1 Album of the Year' prize.

I hope he is so he can earn himself an ARIA next year! It's a pity that it's only few weeks that count though!

I didn't get my CD from Santa this year....even though I did request it...so I only managed to get hold of it today..and K-mart had sold out of it....so that is promising..I had to get it from Sanity....sorry if this was the wrong place...but jeez I wasn't going to wait any longer.
I hope he gets an Aria too!...I just can't wait for more appearances...hurry up 8th.

I'd say it is pretty certain that he has the no. 1 top selling album spot wrapped up.

It will be great if Damien has the highest selling album for 2006, however, that will not guarantee an Aria as I think the Aria year goes from mid- Aug (2006) to mid- Aug (2007). So there will be stiff competition from artists like Human Nature who will probably have another "boom" sale period around Mother's Day.

Hey maggiemay, welcome to the forum! Yeah - the sales ARIA is possibly going to be a tough one, but Damien's sales have already been exceptional, and he will have pretty much the whole year to rack up more sales, so I think he's in with a good chance. He'll be up for a nomination at least, and hopefully he gets the award. I can hear his acceptance speech already...

Thanks for the welcome, Kamitsuki.
I am looking forward to that acceptance speech too (and the look on Human Nature faces!).

I can so see the Highest Artist Nominees for 2007.
Damien Leith The 12th Man Human Nature.
I just wonder of those 3 who'll get it. As I doubt any other artist could reach their success.

I'm fairly confident Damien will outsell both Human Nature and The 12th Man. My prediction: 'Winner's Journey' is No 1 at the end of 2006, and 5X Platinum.
