Damien: still pretty much in shock after last night, but doing really well so far with all the interviews. He got about 1 hour of sleep last night with his wife. He's doing the video clip for "The Night Of My Life" tomorrow. Nice to hear Damien and Jess get on so well together - a good friendship! Go to www.2dayfm.com.au, where you can probably download the interview as a podcast.

Thanks superstar - I was hoping the updates would start rolling in....can't wait for all the coverage he'll get over the next week. I heard him on the news this morning and bolted out of bed to watch, whilst nursing the mother of all celebratory hangovers! Anymore tips, bring them on!

He sounded tired, but both he and Jess still sounded so excited! Yay!
And that single sounds awesome....he really has the ability to convey emotion recorded as well as live....his voice sounds beautiful!

Yeah, Damien sounds awesome on radio! "Night Of My Life" sounds much better with Damien's arrangement. There is a lot of excitement in the media about Damo's win - he even made page 3 of the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper. My faith in the Idol concept has been restored!

My faith in the Idol concept has been restored! Mine too! But I can't get this emotionally invested in another series again. I was a mess last night and I don't even know the bloke! I doubt my favourite will win again, so I'll just watch from the sidelines next year and not get attached to anyone. Damien is enough

Yeah, I don't think I'll be getting this into Idol next year. I might vote a few times if there's someone I really favour, but I'm not going to do the whole forums thing. Unless, of course, someone as brilliant as Damien comes along, which I honestly don't see happening. Not in a million years. To have my favourite go all the way to the top once has been brilliant, and now I just want to keep my money to support him so that his career takes off properly. And they're playing the single on radio already? It must be so exciting for Damien! I'll have to check out that interview...

Damien is enough LOL - I got so into one of the contestants on Idol 2 years ago - it was so emotionally charged and when they were voted out I was devastated - I swore I would only ever watch from the sidelines in future and never visit the Idol forums again. Last year that worked and though i wanted Kate to win I couldn't really care too much as i knew I wouldn't buy the album. When I heard Idol was back on again this year I yawned - I was still on a high from Rockstar Supernova - but when i saw Damien audition Hub and I knew he was the winner. I kept my feelings to myself for soooooo many weeks until the final 4 when I couldn't contain myself any longer....... and look at me now - a wreck. The truth though is that the Idol I liked in series 2 was okay amongst a bad bunch - Damien is absolutely awesome and whether or not he had been in Idol or just made it up the ladder the conventional way, I would be a fan

Thanks somuch superstar - I'll try and give it a listen when I get some free time from my daughter. I didn't tell my kids that Idol was on last night as I knew they would want to stay up and they had had an exhausting day. this morning hubby woke them up and told them (damn it - before me - i was nursing a hangover). So I let them watch the last 30 mins of last night over breakfast. They are sooo excited. They want to watch the whole lot later

Glad to hear I'm not the only one feeling a bit seedy today.....and sooooooooo tired. I'm trying to concentrate on my work but I just can't seem to get Damien out of my head - it was such a magic night!

It's now 3.24 and I've been attempting to start work since about 9am...I'm too busy coping with (a) hangover, (b) small children who don't understand what hangovers are, (c) the emotional rollercoaster I've just come off (actually I'm still on that), and (d) just pure delight and happiness and joy and excitement. I couldn't believe the physical reaction I had to his win last night. I totally lost control. I honestly thought that once it was all over I'd be able to get back on track again. Although I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders though, I still want MORE MORE MORE!!!!!!
