Happy Home
It was your sons first birthday recently - did you get ti see him?
I did get to see him for about half an hour, which is better than nothing. They were in the area so they came and picked me up.
How are you coping without your wife and son?
I miss my family a lot - that's probably the biggest thing for me. We're on the phone all the time and Jarvis will get on the phone. He doesn't say anything but I chat to him. I know I'm very close to them so I really can't complain - everybody else would have to get a flight to go visit their loved ones - but I miss them.
How are they doing without you at home?
They seem to be going very well. My wife is always busy with Jarvis. He's a lively little guy. He was walking as of the first week of the performances.
Were you there when he took his first steps?
I didn't see all of it, but I was there and he was racing around. He's keeping Eileen busy from six in the morning to eight at night.
Do you worry that you'll miss important moments with them?
I'm not so worried about that side - we are keeping in very good contact. Even id we've got two hours, I can be over and back in that time. And for Eileen, Jarvis and me, everything that happens is for all of us. It wouldn't be my dream; it's our dream.
PLUS.....
House Secrets (Im only going to type Damiens out... )
2. On one of his visits to the family, Damien took room-mate Bobby with him and both boys enjoyed a home-cooked meal.
8. Damien is the tidiest Idol in the house - he likes everything in his room to have a place so he's not rushing around looking for things when he's in a hurry
14. Damien says they all worry if they've picked the right song. "Thats going through everyone's minds," he says. "You might be totally confident with it, then you get that niggling thing, 'Is it the best song?' "
17. Damien reveals that the finalists never discuss who the frontrunners are. "It would put a negative slant on things if we were to say, 'Oh, you're going to win this', or whatever, so no one does," he explains.
