I choose to interpret that as: "well it was a festering mass of Disney-esque cliched refrains designed to send chills down the spines of christmas shoppers, elevator-goers and Chinese restaurant diners around Australia. Now that I have completely dismantled and reconstructed the musical elements of the song in such a way that it bears no resemblance to the original, it is actually quite nice to listen to. And don't think I wouldn't have changed the lyrics if they'd have let me!"
Also trying to figure out why in that first pirate picture he reminds me vaguely of Tim Roth...

Thanks so much for posting the info from TV Week winterlong, it's awesome and I just love the pic of Damien 'looking like a pirate' LOL. Had to laugh at the two so called "experts" ;D We all know what an expert is - a drip under pressure! (x-spurt). ;D

Anyway... I was happy that the People/contestant i love go for Damien (Anthony, Bobby, Kate, Lavina and John Foreman). I do not care about the others who are going for Jess (Dicko, Paulini, Ricki-Lee and Ricky). It's good to see that me and my Idols have the same taste *woot*

Umm, I'm having trouble viewing the pretty. Only two images want to load at a time, otherwise all I can see is:

I reloaded it a couple of times and I managed to see most of them, two at a time (the poster from your first post nearly laid me out on the floor, it surprised me so much when it suddenly appeared!) I still haven't seen the last two pics though, and I've reloaded more than 10 times! I'm not sure if I'm the only one having trouble viewing these, and it might just be this time of night. Kate picks Damien to win and that makes me happy, as I like her the best out of the Young Divas. Anyway, it ticks me off whenever someone mentions the contestant 'fits' what the Idol is created for. Especially on Dicko who says that Jess is an example of the fairytalke that Idol provides. Dude... this is a singing competition, not a sugarland where fairies and elves are dancing together. When it finishes, it's REALITY and LIFE that await them. They have to fight for it with their strength. To say that someone deserves to win because it's a 'fairytale thing' is simply ridiculous. May the best voice, win I'd say! I don't want people to feed the contestant with empty dreams that Idol guarantees a success. I believe that idol provides opportunity and it's up to the individual to create their success - hence I believe Jess will not survive out there because she is simply not mature enough. |

Well, as soon as I saw the poster I ran out and bought my own copy of TV Week from the 7-Eleven next door. Then I took it home after work and read it just this morning. I agree with everyone's comments here - I was miffed at the comments about what Idol is defined as - yeah, Jess is a "traditional" Idol contestant but I wouldn't be watching the show if I was interested in traditional! But if anyone's read my feelings on the Winner's Single they would know I felt everything had come falling down on its face again.
