AUSTRALIAN Idol winner Damien Leith is returning to Ireland to launch his international singing career.

Hot on the heels of topping the Australian singles chart with his debut release, Night of My Life, and hitting the top five on the album chart with his The Winner's Journey CD, Leith is flying home after being made a priority act in the Emerald Isle by Sony/BMG. Leith, wife Eileen and son Jarvis leave today for a brief holiday and to spend Christmas with their families.

Leith will hit the promo circuit while away and has been booked for several television shows.

Night of My Life is due for release in that market on January 7.


"Sony/BMG Ireland is thrilled that one of theirs has gone to the other end of the world and has a hit," a spokesman for Leith said.


Leith's next album is expected to be released in March or April

That's fantastic. I feel a bit silly leaving him a message saying have a well deserved break lol. He's going to be working so hard. This is just fantastic news. I hope we get to see some of his footage while over there :-)
