If having the number one single and album isn't enough, Damien Leith will be celebrating twice as hard for New Years with sales figures showing Leith's 'The Winner's Journey' CD/DVD has had the biggest one week sales for the entire year the third largest single week figure in almost three years.
'The Winner's Journey', which is a package encompassing a DVD and CD of all Leith's Idol highlights, sold over an impressive 101,000 units last week.
That takes Leith's total album sales figure to over 208,000 units to date.
In comparison, Guy Sebastian's debut album sold over 163,000 units and Shannon Noll's debut with over 131,000 in their first week's.
It's showing signs that the Australian Idol format is once again healthy after Idol producers revamped the show, especially given that the previous two Idol winner's, Kasey Donovan and Kate DeAurgo, lucky to have sold 30,000 units each.
Australian Idol will return in 2007 with Ian 'Dicko' Dickson returning to the judging panel.

) have decided to wait for the album before they buy anything? I can hardly wait to see how well his originals album will sell next year. I already can't stand the wait. How will I last until March/April?
