By Jonathon Moran January 07, 2007 12:00 www.news.com.au/sundaytelegraph/story/0,22049,21020469-5009160,00.html Leith an idol at home ALTHOUGH we haven't seen or heard much from Damien Leith over the Christmas/New Year period, the Australian Idol winner has been busy on the promotional trail in his home country, Ireland. His single, Night Of My Life, will be released there on January 15. Leith spent Christmas in Ireland with his family and has done plenty of press, radio and TV interviews, including a spot on The Late Late Show, similar to Rove Live in Australia. The 30-year-old returns to Australia this week and will immediately begin work on his studio album. He's set to write tunes with Alex Lloyd and Andrew Klippell. ----------------- Dededom comment: see further en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Lloyden.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lash_%28Australian_pop_group%29en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euphoria_%28Australian_band%29

One more day to go until he comes home! Yeeeeha! (I really need a life!) It would be great to see what D and Alex Lloyd could come up with - I'm a big AL fan, and his tunes are always very emotive with the little touches he puts in, and he's a good at pacing his songs. Good match, methinks.

I hope Damien might come on the board when he is back in Australia: it'd be fun to have a big chat session with the man.

Hope he got some rest in Ireland! Ditto that! Talk about a full time job! I saw this article in the paper this morning! He's coming back tomorrow, right? It's brilliant that he's working with someone, who'd think it would be so soon? His album isn't even started yet, and he's already collaborating with a bit name like Lloyd! He must've been impressed by his version of NMTF ;D Question - if he and Lloyd write together, who sings the finished product? *imagines a duet in the same vein as Billy Joel & Ray Charles' Baby Grand* I used to like Lash's song Take Me Away! They seem to have disappeared though...

hmmm. Alex Lloyd...bit bland for my taste..but D will certainly enjoy working with someone he obviously admires and the experience will be invaluable..also he sings AL stuff damn good, ;D so it will be interesting to hear the results. Andrew Klippel has been producing for BMG for some time I gather. The more experience the better.
