Idol auditions revealed It might seem like only yesterday that 2006 Australian Idol winner Damien Leith was accepting the title, but another round of auditions is about to kick off to unearth another home-grown star. Network Ten has announced the dates and locations for the upcoming series of Idol. In 2007 the judges will travel to all the capital cities as well as new regional destinations including Coffs Harbour, Kalgoorlie and Rockhampton. Notable for its absence from the list is Albury-Wodonga, where auditions were held for the first time in 2006 - and the snub has not pleased citizens. "This year it's just a case of mixing it up a bit and giving as many people as possible a chance to audition," Freemantle Media manager Steve Murphy told local paper the Border Mail. "We do need to vary the tour, year in year out." The upcoming fifth season of Australian Idol will see former judge Ian "Dicko" Dickson return to the panel, along with fellow judges Mark Holden, Marcia Hines and Kyle Sandilands. The season is slated to debut early in the second half of 2007. Wannabe singers intent on trying out should visit the official Australian Idol site and sign up for email alerts letting them know when auditions are taking place in their area. ***** Actually I posted the auditions in the TV/Music Discussion section of the Members' Area earlier today...
