Music charts conquered, Leith targets book sales

Not content with his success in the world of pop following his Australian Idol win, Damien Leith has now signed a book deal with HarperCollins.
Leith, who has spent five weeks at the top of the Australian charts, thanks to a compilation album of hits from the show, says his writing style might surprise his fans.
"It has a dark element because of the psychological side to it," Leith said. "There's murder, there's all sorts of stuff in there. It has it all, plus the dramatic backdrop of Nepal.
"A lot of it is [based on] me, but about 50 per cent of it isn't. That's all the stuff that makes it a story."
And for the sceptics out there, Leith submitted the manuscript to HarperCollins before his Idol win!
