Don't presume Damien is safe

I have heard that some ppl haven't been able to get through on the phone lines to vote for him, I guess this could be a good sign if it's so busy ppl can't get through but he has probably lost a lot of votes there.
I have also had a few ppl say to me that they won't vote for him cos he is obviously safe.
We can't presume anything...a lot of ppl won't vote cos they think he is safe...
We have to keep voting every week!!!!!

I think there is a real danger with people thinking he is automatically safe, particularly as a double touchdown has never occured before, and that theres going to be a hell of alot of sympathy/ panic voting going on from Dean/ Chris camps...

Courtney Murphy was voted out with a touchdown at top3 in Idol 2.....it can happen in the later stages!

I should also remind folks that at this stage last year, Dan England, a real favourite, was booted by 27 votes......an amazingly small margin!!

What does this tell us??
That every vote counts, and that touchdowns dont guarantee safety. Certainly not in this very unique and history-making situation.

So by all means, lets celebrate D's fantastic achievements tonight, but we also need to vote and vote harder than we ever have!!! Its going to be VERY CLOSE!!

Theres something else you can do apart from voting as well guys...as long as it doesnt interfere with the amount of votes you can put in!!

Tomorrow (Monday) is a pretty big day on the Official Idol boards...the busiest day of the week, lots of casual visitors come on to read about the Sunday night performances.

There are a couple of threads that we should try to keep "bumped" up to the front page......

• The "Damien Fanclub" thread
  
• The thread with the phone number in the title
  
• The thread which implores people to vote as he is not safe
  
• and possibly one of the "how good was THAT!" threads that were made tonight....
  

It would be great to keep a strong, positive D presence on the front page of the forums tomorrow, so if you can spend some time there, please try and keep these threads up high.
A tip for "bumping" if you have nothing to say is to just type or paste the voting numbers in:

Also, try to ignore the haters, and keep the positive threads up high - the filth will just sink to the other pages.

Thanks so much for explaining what 'bump' means Winterlong. I'm not that savvy with the Idol boards and don't really like going there at all. it's a bit scary, LOL. I'll just type in the voting numbers. I'm a bit concerned that Damien's fans may become complacent after his brilliant performances tonight! submitting our votes is paramount if we want to see Damien at the Opera House in a few weeks and I'll certainly be doing my bit to see that he is!

Well I've gone through a $20 card so hopefully my bit will help. I agree do not think he is safe cause everyone else will vote!!!

Great to see the momentum is being kept up. It worries me that people aren't going to put in even one vote. I do believe he is safe, but I wouldn't feel easy about it unless I put in my weekly votes.

For some reason the official Idol forums crash my computer, and I'll be out most of today anyway, but when I get home I'll see if I can come on there for a little while and bump threads to help him get some last-minute votes.

Out of curiosity... is it pretty crazy over there right now? I would imagine that Damien's performances got quite a reaction.

I will do my bit today - I will be voting in lots of 10 whenever I get a chance, and I will hit the Idol site now - thanks for the guidance and the TEAM support - I am just so happy that he did so well, and even I am getting messages today from people who have only just worked out what I have been raving about - the fan base must have multiplied in a huge way - but the lazy sods need to VOTE!!! I think those 2 performances are worth paying for!!!!

I have voted heaps both on the home phone and the mobile phone. I got a couple of close friends who don't really watch idol to do votes for Damien on their home phones - which they said they did - at least 3 times.

I agree with the above comments about people saying don't just assume that others will vote and be complaceant.

Anyway, I am doing the best I can. I am very confident who will get through though.
