It's true- And I think it's great- I posted elsewhere about how, at this stage of the game, Damien needs to be singing the types of songs he's going to produce after idol . We know he can sing the classic songs - he's proven that- now he needs to show us his stuff.

I completely agree with you smilingeyes, thats why I'm so happy!

In one sense he is taking a risk by not choosing "Idol winning" songs, and songs that are perhaps not so well known.
But in doing this he is showing us the type of artist he is going to be when he leaves this crazy circus of a TV show...he is thinking beyond the title. And I just admire him so much for doing that!

I mean, after the last few weeks the whole country knows he can build a song, and that hes got an amazing set of pipes. Now I wanna see the future.....

I know what you mean - he would definitely ace "Amazing", but I agree with the person who said it would have certain expectations...I mean, its a song thats soooo familiar!

I'm curious to see how D will pace "Never meant to fail"...I hope he doesnt slow it down too much, he's got a chance with it to pick up the pace a bit, and perhaps show us this "big acoustic sound" he talks about in his latest Video blog...

The other one - sorry - I listened to Ben Harper do it live and it was deadly dull. Hope Damien knows what he's doing with this one........ But then I have never liked Ben Harper and I love everything Damien does so I'm fairly optimistic that he'll do well with it.

I havn't heard either of them Where have I been living? I just listened to them on youtube and the Alex Lloyd one is good but the Ben Harper one (it was the live one too) was a bit boring. I know he'll pick something great so I just have to be patient and wait and see how he delivers it. I sure hope the Ben harper one is a bit faster then his version though then it might be better, well I'm sure it'll be better if Damiens singing it anyway. Even though I didn't know the Alex Lloyd one I like it after only hearing it once so everyone else that hasn't heard it might too.

And yeah I don't think Amazing would be good this far into the comp.

Do they sing the winners single this sunday? I thought we had to wait til the opera house for that
