Well well well. The most recent winner of American idol (taylor Hicks) is 30, looks just as old (if not older), was the best singer in the competition, was told by the judge Simon Cowell (aka Kyle Sandilands) that he shouldn't be allowed in the competion [for looks] but then recanted, and lo, he won because everyone recognised the talent. now, where have we heard that all before?  ? Oh my goodness. Damien is SO MUCH BETTER. I just watched some of his clips on You tube (search Taylor Hicks).

WOW...its so weird hearing the american idols. Its so much the same yet so different That taylor hicks guy was a bit weird Lol, but he seemed funny. But i agree with u 100% dededom..Damien is WAY BETTER!!!...nothing can beat him  |

Taylor Hicks was parodied by Al Yankovic. And I had no idea he was an idol. So maybe Dan will get the same hehe. Anyways on a serious on the whole (all seasons included) I always thought Aussie idol was at a higher standard of judging and preformer talent than the American idol was.

Yeah...I just watched him do In the Ghetto on You Tube. To be honest, I think Dean could do better than that, and Damien would have me crying my eyes out! The arrangement was too fast and too fussy. Our band is way better (Go Johnny Foreman!) and Damien would give a far more sincere rendition - he didn't seem, in fact no one seemed, to realize he was singing about poverty.
Anyway, I have seen Damien compared a lot to the guy who won World Idol singing U2's Beautiful Day (love that song, can't remember his name or country!) I think Damien could do better than that guy, though - and despite Simon telling him he looked "like a Hobbit" and had crooked teeth, he won World Idol! So here in Oz, anything is possible!

YEA!!! thats another thing...it all happens so fast over there like...the songs seem 2 go 4 like 50 secs lol...i know ours r short 2 but we just take our time and make sure we do the performance well ;D. and our band is way better i agree 2!.
wasnt that guy who won world idol called keith or something like that?
