I've been looking forward to tonight for such a long time but now I feel like burying my head in the sand till it is all over. I know deep down that no matter how Damien does tonight, he will do really well in the industry and certainly my family will be supporting him - but it still doesn't take the edge off the fact that this is a competition and Damien is in it to win it!!!!!!!!! Oh butterflies be gone!!!!!!!!

I know just how you feel. I seem to have a lot of nervous energy to burn today so I've written one last poem for Damien.
It’s been a magic journey from audition through to now And tonight at the Opera House you’ll take your final bow It will be a CELEBRATION of all that you’ve achieved And when it’s finally over we know you’ll be relieved
Each week you’ve sung your heart out for your chance at Idol fame And if you don’t win we’ll be CRYING what a WICKED GAME We’ve been voting all week long and that’s the reason why Our fingers are all aching and our phone bills are SKY high
Damien YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL, your voice it is sublime We know that you are ready and that this is your time We’ve been WAITING ON AN ANGEL and you’ve finally come along Now we’re all waiting anxiously to hear you sing that song
So when they read your name tonight you’ll hear us scream and shout We’ll all cry HALLELUJAH as we cheer and dance about It will be a fitting end to a wondrous fairytale For we’ve known all along YOU WERE NEVER MEANT TO FAIL
But if Jess is named the winner it won’t be all that bad At first we’ll all be devastated and you’ll be a little sad But we know that you’ll go on and make it big someday And we’ll all be behind you supporting you all the way
WITH OR WITHOUT YOU there really is no choice You know that we adore you and your truly golden voice You’ll always be our Idol, the best there is by far For in your own words, Damien, YOU ARE A STAR!

F*** Me - I'm as nervous as hell...can't remember the last night I've slept for more than three hours. Luckily I work from home so I can sleep through the day if need be, but even then I'm so wired that I can't even focus on a book. When will life get back to normal?

Wombat - I think you are the site's official Poet Laureate (or however you spell it). That was just great.
I've got to finish painting a picture today - so I'll try and put all this energy into that.

Glad you liked it! I'm going Chrissy shopping this afternoon - gotta get out of the house for a while - hope it will take my mind off tonight but don't think so!

Oh, I love the poem, it's so beautiful!
I feel a little better today than I have all week but I am still pretty nervous, and I think it's going to get worse when the show starts tonight! Fortunately all that's on my agenda today is to work on my novel, so I can sit here and panic if I want, but I won't be surprised if I look back and find I've accidentally renamed the main character to Damien and that all I've written this past week is drivel.

That's so beautiful wombat! I love how you wove the names of the songs he's sung into the poem! And Kami you're writing a novel? Wow! What's it about?

Yeah, I'm writing a novel. ^_^ It's kind of hard to explain what it's about, but in general it's about this guy who's trying to mess with people's minds by doing random things, and this other guy who's trying to kill him. Genre-wise, it's sci-fi/fantasy/literary fiction. So you can imagine how weird it is from all of that. Hyp, *points* look, our obsession is growing!

Wow!! I'm going up in the world! If my obsession grows much more, the forum won't be big enough to hold it! And your novel sounds good! I'd love to write novels and illustrate them! Do you have any plans to get published?

*has weird mental images of forum as big pot with everyone's obsession bubbling over, creeping down the sides...* Yeah, publishing would be great and I'm going to look into it when I've finished what I'm writing to my satisfaction. I'm not going to make a big thing of it though, if it's meant to happen it will and if it doesn't... well, hopefully I'll have a good job to fall back on. I've gotten to know a lot of really great young writers online, and older people still trying to break into the market, and it's a really humbling thing to realise just how many of them there are. Damien has really inspired me in that way too - he's ten years older than me now and so brilliant at singing and probably the writing too, and if he's just getting his big break now there's no shame in not being able to make it big. If I never get published at least I'll be able to share my writing with friends and hopefully they'll enjoy it.

Have a cute story to tell I just asked my Mum this topic question who is the biggest Damien fan in our house. She said nahhhhhhh I'm not nervous because I know hes going to win ;D ;D. Mum has a knack for picking winners from from American idol our idol and other reality shows sometimes if before they bearly start to sing ;D ;D. So fingers and toes crossed that she soooooo gets it right this time around. ;D ;D ;D

I hope your Mum's right Wen My Mum's a bit like that too, they must have a special radar Wombat that's a gorgeous poem! I am swinging from butterflies to nerves - lol - and of course because it's a big day for all of us supporting Damien's quest I'm going to try to focus the butterfly energy into good luck energy OMG - I just hit the "Obsessee" status! eeeek!, lol in fact, I'm just a chatterer... Neski where do you come up with this stuff! Lol, you have noticed how much everyone here talks for such a small membership - everyone's going to be on that level soon.
