All through the comp, I've been saying to hubby that I wished I'd placed a bet on Damien after watching the auditions! He's been my favourite all along!

I would like them better if Damien was a 1.83 and Jess was at 6.01 lol...but yeah it could be worse lol...It's strange that after Sunday's show he isn't the favourite.....Maybe it's as obvious to everyone else as it is to me about the whole Jess winning thing....God I hope I'm wrong.

Well, I'm not too bothered by these odds at the moment because, if I remember correctly, in season 2 Anthony was favourite to win and though I never actually checked this out, I imagine Emily was favourite last year? I think they pay a lot of attention to the public "noise" being made about the contestants, while Damien has been gathering a lot of fans who don't watch Idol normally and who don't talk about liking him, and I don't think those odds take that into account.

the shorter the odds, the more favoured to win...


So, Jess' odds are shorter (less is paid if she wins), therefore the bookie believes she is more likely to win.



That still doesnt make sense, does it? I think on the first page of this thread someone explained it quite clearly....


Anyway, both Centrebet and Sportsbet have Jess favoured to win, but only slightly ;D

exactly..I think the bookies have gotten it wrong the last couple of years at least.....

I mean, look at how often the favourites win Melbourne Cup!
