I still can't believe he won - I keep thinking this is a dream, I'll wake up and Jess is the real winner.   Still on Cloud 9 - this makes up for a few of my other favourites not winning in previous years. |

Yeah, for me this makes up for Anthony not winning when he obviously should have, although nothing makes up for how they've treated Casey. As well as being ecstatic for Damien, I'm so glad that the same thing isn't going to happen to Jess.

Indeed, Anthony should have won series 2! Casey was fantastic but Anthony was my pick for Idol 02 from the start! I remember feeling all horrible because I was overseas when the Grand Finale took place - I wondered if I were there I could have made a difference by casting some votes

I felt bad after Anthony didn't win because I never voted.  I never voted until the third season - with the first season I was just happy to watch and see what happened, and with the second I was so certain that Anthony would win. So I guess with Damien I felt like I was righting the wrongs done to both Anthony and Casey. I think I read into things too much... |

Oh wasn't it all just so wonderful!!! *still BEAMING* LOL Kris, I don't blame you, that new picture on the single cover is *divine* - combine lack of sleep, way too much happy skipping and that picture and I'm pretty useless today - lol earlier tonight I finally got to sit down and watch the show itself - I was already losing it watching the idols' entrance to the fireworks - by the time they did Jess's piece and her song I was in tears, then with Damien on next I was an absolute wreck, lol! What an emotional show!! Just loved loved loved every moment. Ha ha, my friend who was with me last night said, "But why does everyone get so excited? It's great, but I don't understand." He says this while I'm literally jumping out of my skin in the Opera House Bar (this was in the general public area) dancing with the nearby Irish tourists after the announcement - It's because we've supported these wonderful people in achieving their dreams for the last few months, got to really care about them along the way and then at last their dreams came true! Both Jess & Damien I mean, because I think Jess will also flourish. It's so wonderful to see the whole country care about such a positive thing, wherever you go people love to talk about it and to have that energy directed towards musicians and music is just fantastic imo The contest was brilliant this year!! |
