What songs should Damien put on his CD?

I hope some of his songs from Idol are included, like "Crying", "Hallelujah", "Creep", "Wicked Game" and that Ben Harper song(the title I've forgotten), + the single, and some of Damo's original music.
Any other suggestions for King Damien?

I love what you said. I was going to say Crying and Hallelujah. So many people who I know loved it when he performed those songs. They're not exactly fans of his but they said that if he put those two songs on his album they'd buy it. So I hope that he'll put those on there because I'm sure that'd increase the album sales.

While I love all his cover versions - especially Hallelujah (which as I've said before in so many posts - is my all time favourite song anyway and I want to hear Damiens full version), what excites me about Damien is that he is an accomplished songwriter and I would love to hear more of his original works. As for covers - amongst the ones we've heard him do, it's really really hard to pick a favourite as he interprets all the songs so incredibly well.
I love Sky and hope that gets realeased as a single

Yeah, those two at least should and probably will go on there, and I'd love to have Nessun Dorma as a hidden track. I'd really like to have him record all his Idol performances, but he will want to showcase his own songs and some new ones, so I'm going to restrain myself.

I want originals! As far as covers version, I'd love to hear Crying and Hallelujah. Is it just me or the Seymour Centre version of Hallelujah sounds slightly better than the Top 4 one? It sounds more... haunting

Originals are better ;D A lot of artists get bagged for doing covers or too many anyway. One or two would be good.

He did some brilliant stuff on idol but isn't there an idol winners cd/dvd coming out? They'll probably all be live on the cd but wouldn't it be great if they did them in the studio. Don't see that happening though not the whole lot anyway. He doesn't have that much time to do that and his debut album. It still feels strange saying Damien Leiths Debut Album and winner of Australain Idol ;D

I was just listening to Damien Rice's original version of Blower's Daughter that Damo did at his audition and I'd love to hear Damien do the whole thing. He'd be perfect...I'll have to put in a request.

He only did a small part of it at his first audition. There might have been more but they obviously cut a lot of it. Like his reaction to Mark

They only showed a little bit when it was played on TV, but it says on the back "full auditions"

I would love to have a CD with all his Idol songs, then another CD full of D's own originals. The songs I've heard so far of his own are so full of meaning and when he sings them the emotion just oozes out. I can't wait to see what he has lined up for us. I think we are going to be very spoilt by D. He puts in so much hard work and wants to please his fans. What a guy!!!

The one thing I hope is that Damien has full input into the recording and marketing of the CD, he doesn't have anything forced on him that he isn't comfortable with. In other words, we want to hear Damien's own songs, we want to hear him actually playing guitar and piano on the album, and most importantly, I want that voice of his coming out crystal clear. No overproduced pop crap, thanks very much!
