I've got all my fingers crossed...feels like a typical Monday night on Idol  Purps posted a rather promising newspaper article here.....but who knows what to believe! Theres a lot of pressure on Idols to enter the chart in the number 1 spot...but I dont mind if he doesnt. He doesnt need chart success to be a winner in my eyes  I wonder what other big names released songs this week? |

I'm confident he will, and everyone seems to be assuming he will. But, you know, it doesn't matter. The positive publicity he's been getting in all the papers/magazines/whatever as a 'real' musician is worth more than the ARIA charts to me. The singles charts have been rubbish ever since they allowed downloads to count, IMO. Oh, and thanks Dede for the direct links to the relevant charts. |

I suppose a few things working against him debuting in top spot are
i) his single wasn't even out for the first few days of sales calculations
ii) people had tremendous trouble downloading it from the most publicised place (bigpond)
iii) half the stores were/are still waiting for their stock to arrive
...so maybe we shouldn't expect too much this week.
But I'm with Kami, at the end of the day it doesn't really matter....but it would be nice

I'm hoping he will but I will not be totally devastated if he doesn't. Like dleitful said, there are some factors affecting his chance of getting to No. 1
