I guess because 'The Winner's Journey' is selling so well, it was inevitable the single would fall off No 1 sooner or later. Damien actually is still No 1 on the Physical Sales Chart, but what really killed him this week was dropping to No 14 on the Digital Sales Chart. The new official No 1 single is that thing from Beyonce.

Winterlong: I'm not too depressed! NOML couldn't stay No 1 forever, a 4 week run at the top was mighty good. Damien has well exceeded the expectations of everyone, and silenced all the critics.

I do wish the new #1 song had been something I don't HATE WITH EVERY FIBER OF MY BEING... but I'm going to try to be a good sport about it. To be honest, I don't really care about the digital sales - hearing that NOML is #1 on physical sales is what I think really matters, because I think the physical single buyers represent a more stable market. *has no idea what she's talking about, honestly* And now for my effort at putting a positive spin on everything - it may be the best thing for NOML to drop now, I think. Damien has had excellent sales with it, nobody can deny that now, but not too much for him to achieve again with subsequent singles. We've seen how Anthony Callea is suffering from the amazing success of his first single - everyone knows how much it sold, and nobody has a hope of topping it. I believe that Damien is going to have more hit singles in the future that will do just as well if not better than NOML, and consistency will only do good things for his career. Congratulations Damien - your first assault on the Australian charts has been a resounding success, and here's to it being the first of many such successes!

Don't get me started on how much I hate Beyonce - the least talented former member of Destiny's Child. Never fear: Damien's gonna have plenty more No 1 singles.

Hey 3rd place after 4 weeks at the top spot isn't that bad... it's actually pretty darn good that he can still maintain a Top 5 spot

I noticed the chart too but I am so pleased the album is still at number 1. I am also really impressed with how long NOML stayed at the top. Its a wonderful acheivement for Damien and how lovely for him to remember it was number 1 before and after Christmas. What a pressie huh? Hope the album stays at the top for a while longer and then before we know it, his own album will undoubtably be there too! Carla XO

It's all good! Imagine how long a CD of his original work will stay in the charts for...forever! Ha! And although NOML is a great song (thanks to D), it's still not 100% D-stylee, so just look out when his REAL stuff starts creeping into peoples' ears.

It's all good! Imagine how long a CD of his original work will stay in the charts for...forever! Ha! I can actually picture that! It could be one of those albums that pops in and out of the top 50 for decades to come. Top 3 is still a stunning effort considering how long the single's been out. Congrats once again, Damo!

*runs to pick it back up but fails to snag back the Number 1 stand and scores 3*
*Has elbow out ready to knock over Beyonce*
Congrats to NOML for being on of the best Idol singles - with sales like this for his first - are we garenteed for his second as well as album?
