No 14 this week: pretty good for NOML. I was expecting it to drop out of the top 20 completely.

That is absolutely incredible. 6 weeks at number 1! I think the timing of the next album will be great. It will give the Winners Journey time to stick around for a while yet. I couldn't be happier for Damien. WELL DONE!!!!!

umm...dont want to rain on the parade, but I think TWJ is number one for 5 weeks running at this stage....it debuted at number 3 in its first week, and according to the aria chart has been in the charts for 6 weeks total.... but still fabulous news, I cant tell you how thrilled I am about ANOTHER number 1 position for NOML!

Just received the ARIA Chart Report for 15/1/07 "Aussie listeners certainly are a devoted bunch as the nation's Top Ten Albums for the week consists of six former #1s! Topping the list, for the fifth consecutive week is Damien Leith with The Winner's Journey, while chart favouites, Snow Patrol continue their reign with Eyes Open at #2 - the album's highest position to date. P!nk and Aussie Larkin, The 12th Man trade places from last week, while I'm Not Dead and Boned! at #3 and #4 respectively. Meanwhile U2 remain stationed at #5 with U218 Singles...." Interestingly, I've noted that in the state by state placings, although TWJ is still #1 overall, it is #1 in all states and territories ........ EXCEPT for NSW, where it was #2. NSW is of course the biggest market. #1 in NSW was SNOW PATROL (up from #3 in NSW the week before), which is also sitting at #2 in all the other states. So maybe that is where the challenge will come from next week...? So ... don't buy Snow Patrol this week!

FM radio in Sydney is playing a lot of Snow Patrol, and not as much Damien: maybe that's why TWJ has slipped to No 2 in N.S.W.

FM radio in Sydney is playing a lot of Snow Patrol, and not as much Damien: maybe that's why TWJ has slipped to No 2 in N.S.W. To be honest, I haven't heard Damien played on the radio (aside from chart shows) since about a week after the single's release. I know some stations don't like having Idol songs on their playlists, perhaps it has something to do with it. SnowPatrol, on the other hand, are played constantly.

NOML is getting a lot of airplay on MIX FM in Sydney(adult contemporary radio station), and I heard it on NOVA last night, but 2 DAYFM seems to have canned the song entirely. I'm disappointed that Kyle/Jackie O have said nothing about Damien since they returned from holidays: it's all been Anthony Callea and Delta Goodrem on their show so far. Snow Patrol are being flogged to death: I'm very sick of 'Chasing Cars'.

That said, just checking back to the Report fine print, and I note that Snow Patrol has been in the Album charts for 36 weeks, and is rating only 3 platinum, whereas Damien is rating 4 platinum. So there can't have been as many units shipped to stores for them to outsell Damien you would think.

I went to several music stores yesterday at my local big Westfield, and I noticed there are plenty of copies of TWJ still on the shelves......so either the stores have got in new orders, or people have stopped buying the CD.
