What TWJ higher than JJ this week ? WTF WTF indeed. I mean, 34 is nothing to sneeze at... its just that if they'd put a radio single on there (studio version of Beautiful?), she'd have something driving CD sales...

I was expecting this sooner or later. I really don't think they care too much about Jess - or that Jess knows enough about this kind of thing to take hold of her career herself. She is still young, I'm sure her real album will do better...

I am acutally meaning how well TWJ is still going rather then a relection on JJ -------

I guess I would have hoped that JJ would do better...but I guess releasing it was better than releasing nothing and waiting for her studio album later in the year? Seeing as she has made the wise decision to finish school first this year

Wasn't it a good idea to release "The Journey"? I'm sad to say I'm not surprised it has done fairly badly, in comparsion to the success of TWJ. Yes, Jessica has a great voice and she's a nice girl, but in no way does she come close to Damien, and her fanbase was always going to be limited to 10-17 year old girls. The other problem is that Jess is just another R&B diva - Paulini, Emily, Ricki Lee and Kate already had that market sewn up. My suggestion to Jessica would be to go in a different direction: do some rock, some country, some ballads, make the CD a real eclectic mix of different styles. Good on Damien for staying in the Top 40 another week.

IMHO Jess is a better singer than those others, and she just needs to show off how good she is with some good song choices on her album to get her album and her popularity up there.
EDIT: "those others" meaning Emily, Paulini and other Aussie Idol girls, NOT Damien.

TWJ has been in the charts for 17 weeks and is still showing 4 x P. Whenever Damien is spoken about it is always that his album has gone 5 x P. Surely it must be time it shows as 5 x P on the charts.

Either ARIA is taking forever to update their platinum certifications, or the media have got it wrong about the 5x Platinum for TWJ. Whatever the truth, Damien has sold well over 300,000 copies, and no doubt will get a very big royalty cheque. A wonderful achievement, but it's only the beginning for our superstar.
