Night of My Life debuts at #1 in national Singles Charts.

Week 12/12/06

Night of My Life #1 in national Singles Charts for second week.

The Winner's Journey debuts at #3 in national Album Charts after mid-week release.

Week 18/2/06

Night of My Life #1 in national Singles Charts for third week.

The Winner's Journey rises to #1 in national Album Charts, accredited with Four Times Platinum sales. Damien Leith's album has shipped and sold more than U2's album.

Week 25/12/06

Night of My Life remains at #1 on national Singles Charts for fourth week.

The Winner's Journey still #1 on national Album Charts.

Week - 1/1/07

The Winner's Journey is number 1 album again this week - third week running, fouth week in charts - and will be the No. 1 Album going into 2007.

Night of My Life drops to #3 on national singles charts. Still #1 on the Physical Sales Chart, but ropped to #14 on the Digital Sales Chart. The new official No 1 single is "Irreplaceable" by Beyonce.

Week - 7/1/07

The Winner's Journey #1 again nationally.
Snow Patrol has taken over the number 2 spot from Boned (3)

Night of My Life drops to #11 nationally. NOML Digital Sales is down to 17 from 14, Physical Sales is down to 6 from Number 1.

Week - 15/1/07

The Winner's Journey - No 1 Album, 5 weeks running. This is the longest time at the top spot for an Idol winner/star, surpassing Guy's 4 weeks at No 1 for his debut CD in 2003.

Night of My Life down 3 spots to No 14, 7th week in the Top 20

Interestingly, in the state by state placings, although TWJ is still #1 overall, it is #1 in all states and territories ........ EXCEPT for NSW, where it was #2.
NSW is of course the biggest market.
#1 in NSW was SNOW PATROL (up from #3 in NSW the week before), which is also sitting at #2 in all the other states. So maybe that is where the challenge will come from next week...?
So ... don't buy Snow Patrol this week!


Week - 21/1/07

Night of My Life #16 this week on the ARIA Singles Chart

The Winner's Journey dropped from 1 to 2 nationally on Album chart. Snow Patrol has the new No 1 CD
Interesting details from state/state breakup - given the high media coverage of Pink's tour, I'd expect TWJ to drop to 3 next week.
NSW – dropped from 2 to 3 (behind Snow Patrol at 1 and Pink at 2, up from 4 last week)
Vic/Tas - Dropped from 1 to 2
Qld - Dropped from 1 to 3 (behind Snow Patrol at 1 and Pink at 2)
SA - Steady at 1
WA -Dropped from 1 to 2


Week - 28/1/07

The Winner's Journey down 1 place to #3 nationally.

Night of My Life down to # 21.

TWJ - State by state - NSW - down from #3 to #4 (#1 Snow Patrol, #2 Pink, #3 Happy Feet)
Vic/Tas - down from #2 to #3
Qld - steady at #3
SA - down from #1 to #2
WA - steady at #2

nb - Snow Patrol #1 in every state and territory this week and last week (except for SA, where it was TWJ)
Pink is #2 everywhere except SA and WA, where she is #4 (behind The Shins, debuting at 3 in SA, and behind Eskimo Joe in WA).

Week - 4/2/07

Night of My Life holds at No 21 on the singles chart after 10 weeks in.

The Winner's Journey remains in the top 3 after 9 weeks in charts, at number 3 behind Snow Patrol (1) and Norah Jones (2). Pink has dropped to number 4.
But on a state by state basis, the album has actually GONE UP the charts in NSW - perhaps on the back of the Australia Day gigs/TV coverage.
NSW up to #3 from #4
Vic/Tas down to #4 from #3
QLD - down to #5 from #3
SA - down to #3 from #2
WA - down to #3 from #2
Norah Jones entered at #1 in NSW (beating back Snow Patrol), and #2 in all other States behind Snow Patrol.
P!nk dropped from #2 last week in NSW, Vic/Tas and Qld to #4, #5 and #3 respectively this week.

Night of My Life drops to #29 (still in the Top 30)

The Winner's Journey dropped from #3 to #7 in the album charts, still top ranking Aussie artist.
TWJ out of the Top 5 in face of recent debuts by Norah Jones and Block Party

Night of My Life holds at #29 on the ARIA singles chart

The Winner's Journey is at #16 down from #7. Still P<4>. 11 weeks in the chart

On the Australian Charts, TWJ and NOML have dropped one postition only, and are positioned 5th and 6th respectively.

Winter, I want to go thru some of the older editions of ARIA Chartifacts and fill in some more information because I didn't do it as thoroughly earlier on. Into a table would be great - if you can do it so that I can still modify it then go ahead, othewise I'll need a little bit of time to do it. I also wonder whether the summary would be better in HQ, with a link to the Sub-Board for the weekly/archived discussion threads?

Table contents are easy to modify...but if you arent familiar with the coding, it can be hard to find the right place to put your modifications (it isnt what-you-see-is-what-you-get)...I'm away for the week anyway, so It wouldnt be till next weekend anyway...if that helps? I know that there are also some figures about (mentioned in undercover but perhaps chartifacts as well?) as to actual week by week sales numbers...is this right, or am I making it up?

Not sure whether the summary is better in HQ or not...seems more logical to put it with the rest of the discussion, but I also understand that things can be a little 'hidden' in sub-forums... threads are easy enough to move anyway...will give it some thought
