I was watching Sunrise this morning and Molly Meldrum was on giving a run down of the music for the week. He then proceeded to hold up the WWL Album and say that Damien had knocked Fergie and Justin Timberlake of the charts to take over No 1 spot. It was really cool, he gave Damien a real good plug to, saying that he was a great song writer/singer and the best thing to come out of Idol so far.

Aria Chartifacts
Albums Well it took the Irish born Australian Idol winner Damian Leith to bump Fergie from No.1, after she was perched there for four weeks. Leith’s album, Where We Land has debuted straight to No.1. Other Aussies doing well in the Top 10 this week are The John Butler Trio’s Grand National, which moves from No.9 to No.7. Katie Noonan’s Skin is at #9 and Dream Days At The Hotel Existence by Powderfinger is at No.10. Remaining stationed at No.4 and No.5 for the second week in a row is Elvis’ The King and Michael Buble’s Call Me Irresponsible respectively. At No.6 is the Welsh mobile phone salesman turned opera singer, Paul Potts with One Chance. In at No.8 is veteran rockers, The Travelling Wilburys, up from No.16, with The Travelling Wilburys Collection.
WHERE WE LAND - Damien Leith No.1 This is the second album from last year’s Australian Idol winner. It features the single 22 Steps, which peaked at No. 11 earlier this year. Leith’s previous album, The Winner’s Journey, (No.1 Dec. ‘06) documented his time throughout the Idol competition and featured the songs he performed live while on the show, including Night of My Life (No.1 Dec. ‘06). Where We Land showcases Leith’s song writing ability, as well as a cover of the Fleetwood Mac track, Songbird.
