Damien Leith To Release A New Album!
Damien Leith has selected songs from his favourite singer-songwriters of the 60s and 70s and re-interpreted them with his amazing vocal style to feature on an upcoming album, 'Catch The Wind: Songs Of A Generation', which will be released on April 26th!
Songs such as 'Only Love Can Break Your Heart' by Neil Young and 'Wild World' by Cat Stevens have inspired Damien from a young age and captured the spirit of the times.
The messages in these songs still resonates with Damien to this day and now he will be able to share much of his musical inspiration and memories with his fans with the release of his new album.
"The great songwriters of the 60s and 70s have always been a major influence on my own original material. In many ways the songs of that generation are as relevant today as they were back then. I've chosen songs that either mean a great deal to me on a personal level or those that I'd just love people to hear," says Damien.
Damien will give his Sydney fans a sneak preview of this very special collection of songs at two intimate shows at The Vanguard in Newtown next week.
The performances will be made up of songs by Cat Stevens, David Gates, Neil Young, James Taylor, John Denver, Bob Dylan, Don McLean, Peter Frampton and many more, and will showcase the amazing repertoire of music that has inspired Damien's songwriting.

It's so exciting to think in a few weeks we get a brand new Damien CD
right in time for my birthday and Mother's Day Let's hope there is plenty of advertising scheduled for this Cd!

To think that I was about to run down to the record store and camp at the front door to wait for 26th April, until reasoning set in.
a) I would miss the Vanguard gig
b) I would miss St Patricks Day Concert
c) I would miss the Dfest
d) I would miss the rest of 'Saving Kids'
e) I would miss DLO
f) I would need the toilt at some stage
g) Other reasons that I can't think of right now because it is 2.30 am and I am tired

Wild World is a great choice and Damien's rendition of it is going to be absolutely amazing.
You can have a listen to Don McLean's Only Love Can Break Your Heart here. I'm tipping that Damien's version of this song will be better than the original.
