*is very emotional* This was a quieter gig tonight, with amazing acoustics, and a lovely red velvet feel. D said afterwards he enjoyed the night very much. From my point of view, Damien sang two of the most beautiful songs in his repertoire consecutively, and reduced me to a blubbering mess. Come To Me on guitar, then Lilac Wine on piano. He was worried about his voice tonight..he needn't have been, they were so utterly divine, I'm crying just remembering it. Eils was there tonight, and so was Bobby Flynn, with his partner Jade (who is very pregnant). Set List in a minute or two.

SET LIST acoustic Shine Like The Sun - which really works. I like it better than the full band version..it's slower, and more powerful. Catch The Wind Irishman In New York - love this! ;D Guitar man/Stairway To Heaven Annie's Song If 22 Steps Beautiul..on piano. Everybody's Talking SECOND SET Come To Me..on guitar. D said he hadn't sung it for a while. (Gawd, here come those tears again)..it was just so BEAUTIFUL and heartfelt. I am sooo happy he is including it again. It is one of his very best originals, IMO. Lilac Wine on piano. - D played two bars and we went nuts. He said, "Hang on, you don't know what song it is yet!" we yelled "yes WE DO!!"He laughed and then sang the most gorgeous rendition..*sobs* Hallalujah - the last two notes were so sweet, I gasped! BILYW on piano Vincent - There's a story with this one, but I'll leave someone else to tell it! Wild World D was revving the audience up in this one..and a t one stage said, "aaah, as we say in Ireland, now we're sucking diesel!!"The audience cracked up ,then he said," BTW, I have NO idea what that means!" Wicked Game/irish jig ENCORE Crying - D was reluctant to sing this tonight, but the audience insisted. It was wonderful, as usual. Al I Want is You

Thank you Nixter and Trilly! So glad to hear Eils was able to be there to see what sounds like an amazing show!!!
I'm so fascinated how each gig seems to have a different feel, it's wonderful hearing about these differences!
Lilac Wine is such a precious song to me & when I heard Damien sing it live at the JBT I was absolutely transported. Have never heard him sing it with piano except on his video blog, so can imagine it would have been just incredible to hear him play it on piano in a beautiful concert setting.

The audience was smallish,,(80 odd) very mixed ages, some quite young and rather quiet for most of the night..but still appreciative, applauding enthusiastically, and warming to the singalongs in the second set. There was definite DLove in the room. quite a few stayed for the signing, which was short and sweet tonight. I think D appreciated that fact.

Thank you Trilly and Nixter I was only thinking the other day, how it was this time last year that quite a few of us went to the Jeff Buckley Tribute night (JBT for those who don't know) and Damien sang Lilac Wine. June 1st was the concert and Jagger had just been born and I nearly knocked Damien down the stairs I was thinking about it because Trilly kept mentioning how she was hoping that Damien would sing Lilac Wine at Manchester Lane. Only 80 or so? That seems so intimate but I wonder why there weren't more there. How many does it hold? I wonder how many will be there tonight.

Hi everyone, well the show last night was just fabulous, the setlist was one I totally loved, as Trilly said the crowd was rather subdued lastnight, but Damien was happy with that, he was worried about his voice. I finally got to meet Eileen and what a lovely lady she is. When D sang Vincent he was telling the audience how at a show a while ago, a lady in the audience who was here tonight mentioned that the words to the song were wrong......I wonder who that might have been Trilly! He mentioned that he had already recorded the album with the wrong words so it will stay that way forever, when he sang Vincent he used the words (with a grin I might add) "Flaming Floors that brightly blaze" instead of "Flaming Flowers that brightly blaze" The meet & greet was short, but we did get to say hello and got a I am a bit sad now that it is all coming to an end for us, all you other damienites are in for a real treat when Damien comes to play for you.

I also asked Damien if he would sing 'Baby Jane', he said not enough people will know it, but he might give it a go, *crosses fingers* I would love to see how people react to one of D's original songs
