Hey guys, I just found out there is a problem with the server at the moment. I just went to log in and our server was offline, and there are a few that still are. We may experience some problems over the next few days, so if we do then this will be the reason.. What worries me is if proboards need to reinstall, they may not have all our data. They are saying they can't be 100% sure of successfully transferring all the data back to the forums. You can Go here to read up on what is happening... support.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=status&action=display&thread=244674Just remember that only Neski should post over there as she is the Admin.

Roxy, do you think we should back-up (by cut and paste, or other way) some threads? If you think so, maybe whoever can, can volunteer to do specific key ones. I can do some now. Also, I vaguely remember a thread on the Official Forum for DLO... iIs there one and is this where we go if there's a crash? (hope not)

Nuffy, I thought the same thing. Yes please, just copy paste what you think might be important. I have some stuff, mainly the song book threads and their links and stuff like that. If we do go offline for a spell, then you are more than welcome to head over to the O/S, we usually go into The Craic and chat there. We may be safe, but it sounds pretty scary, to think how close we came to loosing everything!

So we don't waste precious time and memory space can we register which threads each of us plan to save individually here so there's no repetition? I'll do the C&A threads - Just the first 8 on page 1 (incl. Revesby)I didn't know where to go and didn't find the Craic last time - thanks for letting me know. This was another thread on the OF (Damien Related) and used a bit last time "The Fan Forum Still Lives" forums.damienleith.com.au/index.php?showtopic=6&hl=original%20fan%20forum&st=90

Excuse my ignorance, but how and where do you save it to?
And is it only recent threads that would be lost like last time??

Excuse my ignorance, but how and where do you save it to? And is it only recent threads that would be lost like last time?? I'm just copying to a Word document on my computer Trilly Tina (discovered my clipboard makes it faster). Roxy said just archive whatever we thinks important. So claim anything you want. I'll do the next 8 threads on the C & A down to (& incl. 29th May Capers)Sorry Tina

Tina- I am copying the source file of each page and saving it as a html file. I don't know how others are doing it or if this is a good way to do it but at least all the info is there and can be restored somehow.
If you need to know how to do this let me know.

I don't know how to do that (or even what that means Smiley Do tell please... But I'll just continue with Word for now. I'm still getting the pictures but not the links (so people would have to provide these afterwards, if it's eeded)

Myst might be able to tell us if this way is okay and not too difficult to restore as she did so much with the lost stuff from last time.
To save as html file:
Open the first page of the thread From the VIEW menu at top of Internet Explorer select SOURCE This opens up notepad. From the notepad FILE menu select SAVE AS Name file eg: 27th May Wellers page 1.html
Click SAVE
the .html saves it as it appears on the forum i.e as a web page I have created folders to put these files in on my computer DLO backups then created folders within that eg CONCERT REPORTS
Save consecutive pages by changing the page number in the file name.
My files are saved like this: 28th May Morning show page 1.html 28th May Morning show page 2.html 28th May Morning show page 3.html 28th May Morning show page 4.html ....etc
16th 17th Gaels club page 1.html 16th 17th Gaels club page 2.html 16th 17th Gaels club page 3.html 16th 17th Gaels club page 4.html ....etc

Hey Smiley copying the source file of each page and saving it as a html file.
Is it simple? I wasn't being cheeky... if it's simple I'll give it a go. SNAP! thanks for that Smiley WTG Team Damien!
