Hey guys, Thanks smiley for that imformation ;D. I'm sure there are alot of people that didn't know that...including myself  I'm off to bed, I'm absoulely buggered and have to get up early. sorry to leave you all here, and thank you so much for helping out. We may be ok, but at least we have made a start if anything does happen. X's everything that all is ok.  If you want to check on the status of each proboard forum here is the link. www.proboards.com/server_status.html this shows you how many boards are out at the moment. when I tried to log in here this evening, this is where I went to check our progress etc. thats when I knew there was a problem, 101 was red. Not sure how this worked, but went to each section and pressed file and saved to my documents, then copied to CD and seems to play back okay. Wouldn't let me save New Members, Admin & Moderators Lounge(of course), Messages from Family, Media Spotlight, TV/Movies Discussion, Concert & Appearances Organiser and Secret Plans.
On Disc 1 there is Members Lounge(225), Games Arena(245), The Action Station(234), Graphics Alert(225) and Updates, Information(218).
On Disc 2 there is Music Discussion(223), Damien HQ(224), Messages to the Man(220), Music Appreciation(226), Appearance Alert(226) and Photo Gallery(211).
Maybe it only works if the things exist, but played Disc 2 Photo Gallery and went to Victoria and got the pics and discussion. Here's hoping. ;D

Here's hoping. ;D Dawn, when you open from the disc it may be opening the actual web address. You can check by looking at the url when you open up the page - if it has the forum url then it's not reading it from the disc.  |

Oh no, I can't believe this!  We are really going to have to get something in place here to archive our data. In the meantime, (as Smiley has already mentioned) the easiest way to save each page of a thread is to firstly open the page, click View on the taskbar and select Source. In the next window that pops up go to File>Save As. First of all give the file a relevant name. You'll notice in the Save As Type box that the file will be saved as a .txt file, i.e. a text file. We don't want that. Click the small arrow on the right hand side of the Save As Type box and choose All Files. Directly after the File Name in the File Name box replace the .txt file extension with .html Make sure there is no space between the file name and .html and then click Save. Click to enlarge.  Make sure you have set up a folder to save these files, don't just save them to your desktop or My Documents. If anyone needs help, let me know. |

Smiley, got this when I clicked on photo gallery no idea what it means....probably means I wasted my time huh Dawn, it is acceptable to do it that way but if Proboards lose our data, the html link you saved can no longer be accessed. What you are doing is basically saving the link which can be accessed while ever that link is active. If Proboards loses that particular page, then it is gone for good, unless of course they do a back up.  By saving the pages as I described above, you are basically taking a 'photo' of the page and saving it forever more without worrying about the data disappearing. Hope that makes sense. |

Great work Nuffy. I've noticed that the board is doing weird things at the moment! When I hit the back button I lose DLO altogether and have to log in again. This has never happened before! Hmmmm, I'm feeling a bit nervous!
