If you are having problems either registering, activating your account or logging in, please read this thread.
If the problems persist, dont hesitate to alert us by posting us a message in this thread or the Updates, Information and Assistance forum - it is the only area in the forum where you are able to post as a "guest" without being logged in...for this very reason.
REGISTRATION/ ACTIVATION PROBLEMS
Still waiting for your activation email to arrive? This is one of the most common problems experienced with joining up to this site.
Never fear, there are things you can do:
1. Ask for the email to be resent
If you try to login again, you should be sent back to the activation page, where there is a hyperlink you can hit to resend you validation email. Try this first.
2. Have a look in your spam/junk folder
Many email, anti-virus programs and service providers have a feature that filters out probable "spam" emails.
Check this folder (it will be where you read the rest of your emails, often in a folder alongside your inbox) to see if the activation email has made its way there. Emails from this board are often mistaken as spam by the filters!
3. Try reregistering using a different email account
This is boring I know, but sometimes, for some reason, this board wont recognise email accounts from certain providers. One of the most common ones that fails to register are accounts from optusnet, believe it or not!
Generally, free web-based accounts such as ones from hotmail or yahoo dont have any dramas, so if you dont already have one it might pay to make one for the purposes of registering.
Just a word of warning though...should you wish to change your email account after registering, you will need to reactivate your account using the new email address. This means that if you had trouble before receiving your activation email on that account, you will probably experience the same dramas again!
I wouldnt worry about the email account too much..its very rare that we would send out important board information via email anyway
LOG-IN PROBLEMS
Occasionally some poeple having troubles logging into the site, or staying logged into the site...even if they have never had issues in previous months.
In most cases the simplest solution works....so when trying to fix this issue, do try these solutions in order, and follow the instructions pretty carefully (they are not hard):
1. Attempt to login, and select 'forever' as the 'stay logged in for' option
Now try to post.
It sounds crazy, but this first simple solution works most of the time!
If that doesnt work:
2. Enable Cookies
Click on tools on the menubar on your browser
Click on Internet Options on the drop menu
On the window that pops up, click on the privacy tab
Put the arrow and track so that the arrow is on low (or 'accept all cookies')
Click ok
Close your browser.
Relaunch your browser.
Now try to login and post...
If this doesnt work:
3. Enable Third Party Cookies
(for Internet Explorer)
Click on tools on the menubar on your browser
Click on Internet Options on the drop menu
On the window that pops up, click on the security tab
Click on the custom button
On the little window that pops up, scroll down to where it says cookies, and make sure the radio button is in the enabled position
Click save
Close your browser.
Relaunch your browser.
Now try to login and post...
If this doesnt work:
4. Clear Temporary Internet Files, Cookies and History
(for PC's)
Select the Start Menu
Select 'Settings'
Select 'control panel'
Click on 'Internet Options'
Under the General tab, there are 3 buttons you need to click - 'delete cookies', 'delete files' and 'clear history'.
When completed, click OK
Relaunch your browser.
Now try to login and post...
If this doesnt work:
5. Try to access and login using this link to the forum:

if this is the golden ticket, please post about it as soon as possible...we may need to look at some simple changes in order to keep you logged in!
