All questions and enquiries regarding this forum and the following guidelines should be directed to the above staff members only.
Please be aware of the following guidelines before posting:
The Terms of Service for all ProBoards apply at this forum.
Please acquaint yourself with them here.
We also have some additional rules here we’d ask you to respect:
Regarding Damien and this forum
A very important aspect to this board is that Damien and his family are members, do read our posts and post their own greetings and messages on a regular basis.
We think this is incredible gift to us from D and his family to us the fans, and hold this feature of the board in very high regard and importance.
We therefore hope that members will keep this in mind when making posts, and ensure that what they openly express on the forum will not make D or his family feel uncomfortable or unwelcome in any way.
Also on this note, it should be said that while you should all feel free to discuss D career, music, appearances to your hearts content (and we know you will!!), do be very cautious about discussing or speculating on his or his familys private life. Again, we want D and his family to feel welcome here and free to read all areas of the forum.
Concerning images of Damien - we dont want to see candid photos of Damien and his family in private, either taken by members or from newspapers and magazines, on the site.
The basic rule of thumb is this- if D or family are at a public event, and are in a situation where they are available to the public, then its okay to post. This would include photos from events (red carpet, concerts, signings etc).
What we dont want to see here on this board are candid photos of D and his family taken at non-public events, during their private time, without their consent or knowledge. That includes any paparazzi style photos published in magazines or papers.
On a final note, Damien Leith, his family and his management have no direct input or control in regards to the content, structure or administration of this unofficial forum, which is run by fans for the fans. Please take all inquiries regarding this forum to the administrators and moderators, and not to Damien!
Your posts on the forum
We expect that all members will be respectful of one another at all times.
While reviews and opinions are welcome, personal attacks in an insensitive and/or offensive manner are unacceptable.
Content that is illegal, offensive, abusive and harrassing is of course not permitted.
The admin and moderators reserve the right to edit and remove such content, but are not obliged to do so.
Do remember that the opinions and content you post are YOUR OWN. They are not the responsibility of, nor do they necessarily reflect the views of the admin, moderation team or "Damien Leith Online".
If you are having a disagreement or an issue with another member, please do not take the argument onto the open forum. We are here primarily to enjoy and discuss the work of Damien, and do not feel a fan forum is an appropriate location for personal disputes or to air grievances. Any personal disagreements taken onto the open forum will be subject to the guidelines, and to possible moderation.
The staff here are always available to assist in any mediation that may be required, and encourage members to contact them swiftly with any concerns that may arise with these issues.
In regards to your posts on other forums, it is important that you do not take it upon yourself to represent the ideas of this board, or post on behalf of this board.
The administrators of this forum are the only members who may post or speak on behalf of this forum, Damein Leith Online.
If you wish to post elsewhere about a project being run here (eg the SO donation project), or make a comment on behalf of the forum, you must approach admin first for approval.
Privacy and Personal Safety
The following are guidelines to assist with your privacy and personal safety on this forum.
The admin and moderators have no way of screening members, and know no more about members than you do.
Any personal information you reveal about yourself on this forum is at your own risk, and is your responsibility.
Please do NOT divulge your personal details to someone you have not met, and preferably use PM instead of email so as not to reveal your ip (computer) details.
Be careful about posting personal information on the forum or revealing personal details including age or your location.
There are wonderful members on this board and getting to know them is fantastic - but please also be aware that there is always a possibility that not everyone may be who they say they are and for that reason please always exercise caution.
If you suspect any member may not be who they say they are, or give you reason for concern, please contact the admin or mods.
If you are under 18 years of age and would like to meet up with anyone from the forum please be sure to let your parent of guardian know.
Even those over 18 should endeavour to let someone such as a friend know if they are going to meet with anyone and where. Any meetings should also be in a public place first.
It is always best to put your personal safety first at all times.
Regarding the privacy of others, please do not post or circulate any personal details of other forum members, either publicly or via PM, without their explicit permission beforehand.
No member is under any obligation to reveal personal details about themselves or their experiences, or to explain why they choose what remains public and private about themselves. Please keep this in mind, and refrain from pressuring or coaxing other members into doing so.
Forum Etiquette
We value and respect your opinions and coments here on the board - and hope that you will show other members the same courtesy by doing the following:
Try to read through the names of existing threads in forums before starting any new threads to help avoid duplicates, but please feel free to add onto old discussions too. It helps everyone if the threads you make have clear and descriptive names.
Do try to stay on topic, by posting in the correct forum and in an appropriate thread. If you are in doubt of where to post something, have a read to see if similar threads have been posted. And you can always contact staff if you have a question.
Please ask permission from the owner of any images posted on this forum before using them in Siggys/Avatars etc.
You may only post images that you host yourself, or that are hosted on a site that gives you permission to hotlink to them. This includes images used as avatars and signatures.
Hotlinking is where you right-click on an image, save the URL and paste it between tags on the forum. If you do not have permission to do this, it is actually stealing bandwidth from whoever is hosting the picture, and is poor net-etiquette.
Should you have any further queries on this, contact a moderator
Personal Messages
Personal messages are just that - personal!
Please do not post the contents of personal messages in the forum, or share the contents with other members via PM without first getting the consent of the author.
This includes personal messages from ANY member of the forum..including D and his family. We understand that recieving PMs from certain members is exciting and its great that we all want to share, but we would like to respect all members privacy by making sure its cleared with the author first.
Your personal messages cannot be read by any other member of the forum, including staff members, and therefore cannot be moderated. However, we do ask that members still abide by the forum guidelines when using the personal message system. This requires excluding content that is illegal, offensive, abusive an harrassing.
If you are receiving unwanted Personal Messages, please inform a staff member immediately.
Members can choose to block other members messages should they desire (please refer to FAQ for details), but staff may also exercise the option to block messages to and from your mailbox should they see a need.

Regarding the changing of display names:
With Proboards, we are given the opportunity to change our display names when we like. Here at Damien Leith Online, we ask all of our members to respect this privilege. . Therefore, we would like to set a few rules in place.
If you want to change your name, you are free to do so, but as long as it is in an appropriate manner. Abusive, discriminatory and disgusting language will not be permitted. This is a friendly board, and we would like to keep it that way, having any horrible words as usernames will reflect badly upon this board. We would like to ask you to make sure it is recognizable as YOU. Changing your name to another members username is not permitted.
******************************
We do ask that you respect the above guidelines when on this forum. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may incur a warning from staff.
Constant and repeated infractions, the ignoring of warnings or extreme violations of the guidelines may result in a member being banned.
We will always try to work through problems with members before having to resort to these measures, but in extreme circumstances staff reserve the right to terminate membership at their discretion.
