Gawd there is sooo much more to report about this show/trip but don't have time to do it sorry. Work beckons! I can't wait for Smiley/bella/Sis to get back on line too and add to all these reports. We saw Lyn just as we were entering the show, and she had saved us 2 seats down the front. Thank you lyn, it was great to meet up again. Sis and Bella said it was best Smiley and I go as we had the cameras etc. We decided to swap at half time so they could have the two front seats. We didn't know this was a general admission venue either, and when we arrived we saw this huge line an hour before the show was to start. We were all saying, surely those people aren't lining up this early to get their seats! so off we trot to the BAR and FOOD! gawd we needed food badly! We were taking our sweet-mary-time about getting to the show, and when we did finally make it to the door, we were strapped with Fluro orange arm bracelets and told that without them WE CAN'T COME BACK IN! and if that wasn't enough, our tickets also got holepunched! I mean, we are talking an RSL club here and it felt very Overkill to me! They must of been worried about gategrashers There was no backstage to this venue, and Damien had to come running in through a side door that lead directly out to the street!! it was very bizarre! As I've said before there was a great mix of ages in this venue, and at half time a few people decided to sit on the floor right in front of the stage, it wasn't a high stage at all, very low and the floor was carpeted. So Smiley and I decided to join them at half time too! and Sis and Bella took their turn at the front table with Lynlest. Hence why some of my photos are *veryupcloseandpersonal* back tonight with more..

This is random...but this is why I couldn't get on last night to do much reporting. The storms that came through had some amazing lightning going on and I took this around 5ish... I love taking pics of lightning and if my camera wasn't already full I'd have managed to get heaps of shots like this.

Thanks for the extra tid bit Roxy. It was great that after all your dilly-dallying you still managed front row seats. Like RIvers said in the CHPRSL Photos thread - us Damienites have to stick together . Massive lightning you've got going on there. I will be patient until tonight while I wait for the rest of the stories and pictures.

This was a great night too! I was a bit worried that after Redcliffe this would be a let down but it wasn't! The crowd really got into it and there was lots of cheering and whistles ( and not just from us... ) As Rox said Lynlest saved a couple of seats for us - which was so lovely of her so Roxy and I got a great possie for the first half and I snaffled a couple of seats for Bella and Sis on a table about three rows back so at least they weren't right up the back! We wore our D-shirts to this and had lots of people asking about them...they wanted to know if they could buy them there that night! we could have made some money! We wore them proudly and really felt like part of D's team! (okay...I'm dreaming here a bit but...sheesh! it's all I've got! ;D) The package we left on D's stool got everyone's curiosity up...I had a few people ask me what it was be fore the show started. It was great sitting down the front in the second half- we were VERY close..and watching the group of young people (blokes and girls) sitting on the floor getting right into it was great. They were a group there for a birthday and Damien sang happy birthday to the birthday girl. Lucky Duck! Oh God we had so much fun on the trip up and at our hotel! Talk about partay! Oh my aching head! I wasn't so chipper yesterday morning...I can tell you!

Sounds like another fantastic show Smiley It has been great reading the reports to all the Qld shows as it sounds like Damien is on fire at the moment. I am loving the mixed set list, lots of originals and great covers too. So glad to hear the crowd were right into it. Sorry to hear you paid the price for a good time on Sunday morning though but I am sure it was well worth it!

Love all the stories, thanks Roxy and Smiley, wow what a shock you all must have got when you were all just taking your time and then realised it was unreserved seating!! So great that Lyn had the spots for you and that you were all eventually able to move around and be closer anway - can't wait to see the pretteh!! And how strange that there was no backstage - but it was the street, and Damien had to come in from the side door!! OMG that lightning!

I just remembered something else that D did. He also had a sexy move (another one) it was a MICK JAGGER one! it was absolutely hilarious and Eric started the music to Start me Up! (I think that was the song) Damien mimicked the move so well too. We had the most amazing trip up to the Coast that day, we didn't get lost, not even once although it's pretty hard to get lost on the freeway! so I suppose that helped. We didn't get to see D after the show, as I mentioned their backstage was literally side-entrance onto the street! not only that, after they finished the place sort of turned into a public drinking arena with Pool Tables etc. so it was best that he didn't come and say hello! he would of been swamped otherwise. The place was dodgy, but the show was great. So that was the main thing. When we got to our accommodation we checked in (it was the ONLY place to stay in Tewantin by the way, either that or the pub) and drove around trying to find our little unit where we were staying in, the place was really nice and it had swimming pools (3 big ones) dividing all the apartments. Like townhouses with upstairs and downstairs. Some of them were facing a huge lake on the other side. Anyway, as we were driving past the reception area again (we missed our unit) we were all saying how excited we were to be going to the show that night, and I looked out the car window and their was DAMIEN!!! seriously, he was walking into the complex!! Our mouths fell open and we were totally surprised/shocked/excited etc He saw us and pointed and waved to us. As it turned out they were all staying in the same place and were in a unit directly across from us. We didn't see them at all, as we had stayed on at the RSL for quite awhile afterwards. We did get to say a quick good bye the next day and it was so nice to be able to say THANK YOU to them for everything, and let them know just how AMAZING the shows had been up here. Driving home for us was a bit of a hellraiser too, as Smiley and Sis were both feeling a little off colour, so we had to swap drivers a few times not to mention we had to stop at every Servo as well. Like I said to them both.....a Hangover is a bit like childbirth! it's awful on the day but you soon forget about it and keep going back for more! I had the best time ever and am so glad I got to enjoy it with the gang, girls, tarts once again. Love yas all

Love that report, thank you Rox! I bet you nearly died when you saw D was staying at the same place. It was lovely that you got to say Bye to him and the others and let them know what a fantastic few days you had all had Hehehe sounds like there was a couple of Damienites feeling seedy on the way home. Sounds like an amazing few days. Thanks for all the great reports, they have been SO much fun to read!
