OMG getting lost and even lightning strikes!! There's always an adventure on a Damienite road trip! Thanks so much Braff and Carla, just love reading all the stories, it sounds like you all had a lot of fun and there was a great turn-out there of Damienites and Damien was in great form too And he was being cheeky as well Can't wait to see the pics later!

Meant to say I would love to have heard Vincent, it's incredible as it is, but Damien took it to an even more beautiful place? Wow The setlist sounds great, so glad Damien did Goodnight again as well. Just meant to ask too, did Damien have his keyboard back yet?? Sorry if you mentioned in the other thread for the 21st, haven't been there yet (am just going there now)

Thanks Braffy! Am so curious to hear Goodnight done with guitar after hearing it with keyboard at Canterbury, sounds like it was lovely! Love Beauitful done with the guitar. Such a shame it looks like maybe the keyboard isn't back yet though.

It wasn't a large stage, and Eric was there again last night as well as Raymond and Indi, so I guess space would have been an issue to have had a keyboard (even a portable one) up there as well as Damien.

I don't think there has ever been a road trip when the Damienites didn't get lost have "navigation issues"

Thanks for the great reports, ladies. aww Carla. D can really touch emotional nerves sometimes. That's part of the man's genius and it's one of the things I most love about him. That soul conection he makes is incredibly powerful. Glad the Damienite parteh went well..sorry about the blackout though Brawn. and hehe getting IT hey??

Here goes ;D I was highly impressed with Penrith Gaels The food was delicious and the venue was intimate, even though it holds about 200 (I believe) Everyone would have had a clear view and certainly would have heard every beautiful note D wore his bright "Canary" yellow t-shirt 'All for Money' kinda tight like his black jeans with the big belt buckle (Womby.......where were you ), ohhh and his black cons. Show started with the boys - Eric, Damien and Raymond Shick(sp?) otherwise called Shrek and eventually Indi came on Opened with the wonderful Shine Like the Sun There was a discussion about ages and that Ray is younger than Eric and Damien being unhappy that he now has too many grey hairs...........hmmmmm didn't actually notice that......was looking at the total picture Then we were treated to Catch the Wind followed by a discussion about Eric's fantasy D revealed that Eric had a Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) fantasy when he was younger and dressed up in the headband, wristbands and red jacket and played guitar looking at himself in the mirror D also revealed how he was so nervous when he first sang CTW as he fancied a teacher who was listening awwwwwww He also talked about how Mark told him how ugly he was coughtheman'safoolDcough but liked his teeth, however no Tic tac sponsorship He then talked about his family and how he was inspired to write Not Just for the Weekend, which he sang. Damien then talked about his dancing and gave a demo of his Celebration pogo jumps and then demonstrated his side(always to the left) shuffle/slide ;D. We were then fortunate to have If. D then talked about how he was just back from Qatar on Wednesday, but the boys were having trouble adapting back to normal hours, but Friday night they went to sleep at midnight and slept till 5:30am ha so he was not quite as tired as the previous night. Next we had Guitar Man leading into Stairway to Heaven and next was Everybody's Talking with the wah, wah, toot, toot. Then D did the holding note at the end but Eric got the giggles when he was supposed to be holding the long note and D was pretending it was him......but then D had a giggle because it was messed up so Eric was punished ;D and had to do his moon walk. Next came the stalking song (aka unrequited love and how he was rejected by the girl at school and didn't get to be squashed against the wall-accompanied by being squashed actions ) .......however.........D went blank and there was a paauuusse in the song. There was also a discussion re having a break for a drink or wee wee

Love your report Dawn with all the little details, brings it all alive Sounds like the Gaels is a great venue, everyone who has been there for the shows has had good things to say! Ooh Womby, looks like you are back on duty and the belt buckles are getting even larger!

After the break Damien did a fantastic rendition of Crying and even scored a touchdown from an older gent and a standing ovation from "some female fans" ;D We were then privileged to hear the song Goodnight, written for a friend in Ireland who lost her husband.....I closed my eyes and listened to this one..........beautiful We were treated to Hallelujah running into Sleepwalker and Raymond did the main solo playing this time. As always the song Beautiful was simply stunning and after it I gave D a bunch of variegated red and pink carnations and a large box of bounties. Damien thanked me and (Carla is my witness ) I told him he needed the bounties to put more fat on. You'll have to ask Kazza what she thought I said When Damien had been discussing this year's Australian Idol and who people thought would win or liked an older guy called out Vincent................... ???Damien was a little taken aback as he couldn't remember a Vincent ha the guy thought D was asking for songs they'd like and he was rewarded with A lovely rendition of Vincent with the "flowers" Then we had Wild World with the singalongs and how the lucky ladies were getting it ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;Dwhich of course was totally misconstrued by down the front who started getting really excited about this and yes.....it was Scandalous!! The final song was to be All I Want is You with the competition between the sides and was a bit of fun again. After the standing ovation and table banging and foot thumping Eric, Ray and Indi came back.....but no D, cheeky devil and just as Eric said wouldn't it be funny if Damien didn't come back.....................................he did and they started with Hotel California (with some made up lyrics ) and Wicked Game with its high pace, much hand clapping, foot thumping and the Irish Jig by Damien The crowd was pretty into it and were fairly noisy and certainly sang along loudly except for one line earlier in the night which apparently made Wollongong look "not so bad" ( to Carla ) Thanks for the wonderful Show Damien, Eric, Indi and Raymond. I gave Eric a hug 'goodbye' as he'll be away for a month with work We had a hut which involved tea, coffee, smith's crisps and Kit kats ......ohhhh and biscuits. There was Kazza, Michele, Carla, Braffy, Nuffy and myself. I t was lovely to see Houndsy, Lozzy and 'Flossy' (Lozzy's mum) earlier ;D

The set list sounds amazing LMAO I'd love to see Eric dressed like Mark Knopfler Damien and Eric really are brilliant together, I love their banter and the stories that Damien comes out with They just seem to bounce off each other don't they. Thanks again Dawn
