Now from the beginning.

After meeting up with Princey and GJ in the hotel lobby, who should also arrive just as we were checking in but Myst and DH..who now knows what that stands for. After major squueees and hugs, we made a date meet up and go to dinner.

That didn't quite go as planned. After dragging the excited, but walkingly-challenged s on a scenic tour of Marvellous Melbourne, we finally arrived at our restaurant half an hour late, to find Krissy, anny and co had beaten us to the table and were wondering what kept us. Blame my total lack of a sense of direction..and, for future reference, Southgate is NOT Southbank. oops!

We wolfed down some sustenance and then returned to Crown, excitement building!

When we found our seats, instead of the usual *package* view, some of us had *thebumcrack* view Eric's derriere was in our faces most of the evening. WE LOVE ERIC TO PIECES ........but not that much. We thought about parking our bikes.....except we left them at home!
However, we were so close to Eric, we could have reached out and touched him..which sorely tempted a certain ..after a vino or two.

The first set was amazing as usual, but the audience was reluctant to join in the singing the Toot Toot song. even with D doing his best arm actions..which kinda looked rude to me ... we joined in heartily. s Wollongong is now reprieved from The Worst Singers In Australia title.

Melburnians do like to clap, however, and we did OK in those stakes.

The second set began with quiet, solo D on the keyboard. Btw, D's brand new, unused keyboard was wrecked at the airport! He is currently using a replacement Roland supplied by the airline. The disasters continued, with car hassles (not big enough to fit all of them) and then Eric forgot where his mouth is, and tipped a cup of hot chocolate down his chest. Ouch. Oh, McGoo, you've done it again! Damien thought that was hilarious! It seems they are having an "awkward" - (D's word) competition!

I'm writing this in the hotel room with Krissy, Di and Princey. This is a joint effort..that's why it's crap!

btw Krissy, (who is totally ratshit ), says

Then, D found our signs...you know what happened next.

The second set had us all on our feet, bopping, clapping, squeeing, singing and generally having a helluva good time! We were joined by other enthusiastic D fans (Hi Beth and Melissa) The place went OFF! ;D

The sound was stunning with the full band. I loved hearing Jimmy, Eric, D and Indie all playing together..and wow, that voiceboxthingy of Eric's is brilliant! ;D

Lots of people said that they had not realised just how incredible a performer D is live. Funny, that seems to happen at every gig. Silly people!


OK, it's check out time, and we have to run...

Agreed about Wollongong Womby Thing with Wollongong/Dapto was....we ALL DID sing along, it was really loud but the singing did leave a lot to be desired!

Oh no! Not the brand new imported piano! Poor D- that's bad luck. Not surprised they couldn't all fit in the car though ..Roxy & I said the same thing..wondering how they'd all fit once they got the piano...they were packed to the rafters as it was.


Sounds like the 's had a great time- although may have needed for the POV this time! Would have been a hoot to be a fly on the wall an listen in to the conversations!! ;D

Can't wait to hear from everyone else. I suppose D & the gang had to hotfoot it to the airport first thing this am to get to Perth?

Forgot to say how devastating about the Keyboard/portable piano. Damien must have been so upset when he saw he had been broken. Poor thing....it was his brand new toy too

Hope the Airline replaces it and I hope it doesn't happen again.

He must be really upset about it, Carla, but he is such a professional it didn't seem to throw him. He was absolutely superb last night and the banter was just hilarious and very witteh.

Apparently they had a very early flight this morning, Smiley. :-/We didn't get to speak to him, but we had expected that. The gig went for 21/2 hours, so we certainly got our money's worth.


Btw, D, if you're listening. I have to tell you how much I liked I"'ll Be There (For You)". Absolutely love the idea of it being rocked up with electric guitars. The coda is so unexpected and gorgeous and the lyrics are lovely.

Don't worry. It seems the replacement Roland is travelling with them, Tina.

WELL!, i am finally back and totally stuffed to the max! but won't go to sleep because i am still extremely HYPO!, though it may not look like it on the outside on the inside i am

Sitting on the side was a different experience i must say
AS THE TART THAT I AM , very used to her comfortable package viewing seats, right under teh mans nose, i still love watching Damien from what ever angle it is, even if it meant getting a bum stairing opportunity every once in a while

As you can see the set list is AMAZING AS ALWAYS!! , he all had us melting into Damien heavenlyness with his beautiful songs, HOLDING MANY LONGGG NOTES!!!! making teh ladies (mainly us) SWOOOOONNNNN BABY YEAHHHHHHH

I don't think we saw what was coming in the second setlist
The place was going TOTALLY OFF!!!, mainly on the right side of the room . We jumped up for a lot of the songs, clapped, danced and sung our little hearts out!!!!
Even a couple of other girls who were clearly massive fans of D also and totally loving it! joined in on our shall i say D LOVING CRAZINESSSSSSSSS!!! WOOOOOOO HOOOOO!!!

With his sexy moves and hilarious jokes that just made us laugh our heads off!!!

Before we knew it, it was all over and the time seemed to have gone so fast!!
With me screaming out very loudly "NO DAMIEN COME BACK!!!! " I wuv you lol.
We didn't see him after the show but that doesn't matter as he was leaving very early the next morning, so bed time for D pretty much straight after the show!
Wish i could of given him the biggest hug and told him how much he blows me away everytime i see him


THEN! we basically par-tayed and talked about what we just witnessed in a bar and our room till we fell asleep at around 3 or 3:30 ....but only got 3 hours sleep so woke up at 6 and talked more about Damien!!! as you do!
We were already having major withdrawls and missing him muchly! , as we realised he was off to amaze the lovely Perth tarts

It was so awesome to meet Mysterri & DH, Braffy and Plugger! ;D

Sounds like the concert was fantastic, that set list is very similar to ours at Redcliffe good to hear that the place was packed out too.
Good work their 's with the note to sing ABBA songs that would of been hilarious.
