Hi, This request may, or may not, seem strange to some but Damien's song, Waiting On An Angel is one which a friend has requested to be played at her funeral. However, the only track we can find, which was sung before a live audience, has the cheering etc included. Can anyone tell me if there is another version without the background noise?

Hi Rob. I'm sorry to hear about your friend. As far as I know, Damien hasn't recorded a studio version of "Waiting on an Angel". But you might try and check the Carols at the Domain version of 2006 which he did as part of their tribute to past stars of Australia. I can't remember if there was any cheering at any point in the middle or straight away at the end. This is the youtube link. Just click on it to play. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=QnNQCc6Mo9wactually, just listening to it now... it's got excerpts from movies etc and there is cheering.

Hello rob48. Nuffy, that is the Logies from 2007 that you are referring to. There are no recorded versions as Nuffy has mentioned. The Logies thread would be your best chance. Damien has commented in the past how friends of his walked down the aisle at their wedding and as the bride got to the end of the aisle the clapping and cheering started and he was saying thank you thank you as he always did when on Idol.

Ahh, you're right about the Logies 2007 Braffy. Thanks for that. I have heard that someone actually did use the live Idol version of the song for a funeral complete with cheering which, I guess, was faded out. But it's not everyone's cup of tea... Sorry we can't help you rob48.
