Krissy, In Dreams is another Roy Orbison song..which D said he's only sung a little of at The Gaels before..it was to DIE for!! It starts low and sexy and builds to the most gobsmacking falsetto crescendo ever..apart from being incredibly emotional. D was born to sing Orbison..just freakin SUPERB!! The audience adored it!!

*sigh* Nobody's online, but I have to write this before I forget.. This was a quiter gig tonight, until the second set when D and Ray took off! I have to say that Ray is an awesome guitarist..had some lovely solo moments tonight. Eric is Eric, just amazing, but Ray is doing him proud. He and D seem to have an easy understanding already. Indi's arm is still sore. D made us all say "awwww" together for her .. Indi seemed less than impressed..hehehe.. This audience was quiet at first, but not in a disinterested way..just completely absorbed and attentive, clapping wildly after every number. Weller's is a very small, intimate venue and on a cool, rainy Melbourne night the place was packed to the rafters. The age range was enormous, mainly middle aged folk, but many thirty somethings who came for show only and loved it. I happened to be sitting next to a young lady named Laura, all of 14, who just adored every second of the gig, especially when D sang Happy Birthday to her and someone else we know. Laura's parents had been before and loved him just as much..they were fabulous company and didn't even seem to mind when I kept jumping up to take shots.

I know the song Trilly and i can soooo imagine Damien singing In Dreams It sounded just beautiful. I know what you mean about people being really quiet during the show - just because you can get so mesmerised! Tell more please!

I've just realised I have absolutely NO idea what D had on his feet! I couldn't see them from our vantage point, but I think it was his black winkle pickers..but don't quote me on that! I don't have the setlist, Princey kept it tonight ..but the Toot Toot song was on it..and the audience really loved it!..and joined in. Melbournians love to clap along..and every time we did, D said "ahhh, those hands sound lovely up here!" Poor old Wollongong copped it again ..with D sounding a bit sheepish about it..hehe..we sang along , nicely, until pushed by the very highest notes of AIWIY..the blokes in the crowd were unable to rise to the occasion!
