Braffy - wonderful part one - you do reports so well LOL I don't think I will ever keep up with the ladies If was beautiful. LOL still not a fan of the song Lilac Wine (however it was sung beautifully) I had a nice night and just want to say to Mrs Leith Snr you have a very thoughtful son LOL Maggiemay - you are much too refined and demure for some of us rowdy s I'm sorry that I couldn't hear you very well across the table last night - it was so noisy and your voice is so soft. Next time I'll have to sit next to you :xmashug: Thank you for the scratchie btw - I scratched it this morning but no luck - guess Dawn was the lucky one

OMG what a night - what a great Christmas get-together and show at the Vanguard we had the most funtarstic time last night I will write more later, am still here right through tonight at work (somehow - but in reality still seeing all the pretty swirling backgrounds behind Damien while he was singing at the Vanguard ) and then I've got Dee Why tomorrow but just wanted to say for now I loved it ALL - the great company , the dinner , the show , the very late night Hutting It was so great to see Eils and wish her & Damien a Happy Christmas in person Loved sharing the evening with you all last night, right from the start we were all so excited for our Christmas get-together I think there are some great pics floating around of the show and the Vanguard festive table (and probably not on my camera , though with any luck I might have a couple of decent videos ) So sorry you got that wretched parking fine, Womby ok - wardrobe report from my perspective (since we are all having a crack at giving one ) - teh gorgeous pointy patent black shoes, teh tight black jeans (which Damien said were tight tonight, but nothing to what Led Zeppelin were wearing in a pic upstairs at the Vanguard ) and a grey/black/brown v-neck t-shirt of "perfect" cut - i.e. low enough to reveal teh chest hair Set list was fabulous - will write better detail later but some of my highlights last night were: LILAC WINE on Damien's new keyboard - anyone who knows me knows how much I love that song and I just about went into orbit when I heard the first note on the keyboard. sheer heaven for me from beginning to end I've been hoping so much to hear this song again since the Jeff Buckley night and it was divine An INCREDIBLE version of "Baby I Love Your Way" with "Fall at Your Feet" mixed in with it - WOW . I loved it so much I started applauding mid-way, just couldn't help myself, I was LOVING it! The guys did a great instrumental part in it as well and they just nailed it. Damien was belting out Fall At Your Feet, it was fantastic, he really goes for it on that one everytime I've ever heard him do it. I have NEVER heard Damien singing as well as I have the last 2 shows, he's in the best form I've ever heard him. His voice just seemingly effortlessly flowing from him. We were so lucky to hear Damien's new song "Goodnight" again. I really love it -the words are so beautiful and it sounds like a song you have always known, instantly a song you can take to heart. All night Damien was hitting every high note so perfectly, it all seemed as natural to him as breathing which is when you really feel like you are watching a performer in their zone, it's a magical experience Will come back later to join in the stories In all, it was such a wonderful evening, thank you all for making it so so special

Just remembered a funny moment Damien said something about his jeans being tight and how it helped him reach the high notes and one called out "we noticed" ;D Shims, fantastic, wonderful report! So glad it was a great night!, and that you got to chat to both D and Elis! ;D I just love it when Damien does everything so effortlessly

Just popping in to say "Thanks" to all the lovely damienites who shared such a fun night last night Can only say "ditto" to the raves about the voice and the whole night... Had to rush off...was totally exhausted and anxious about bub (who HADN'T WOKEN when I got home!! ) Brilliant set list (wardrobe nice ....but would have liked teh epaulettes to make an appearance ) Was just thinking I wasn't going to get my much-anticipated rendition of Beautiful when...bless 'im', he sung it as an encore B-ewtiful *sigh*

Braffy, Womby and Shimmery, I only just now got a chance to read all the reports (and parts). Wow, how can I add to that? Thanks Braffy for the set list - I can never remember the songs I love the way you tell it how it was LOL the Vanguard staff were very impressed with the festive decorations at our table. I was so lucky to sit next to Womby too cause, I'd forgotten to bring my Christmas stuff! and so she lent me one of her Naughty/nice hats. Thanks womby! Shimmery also had a special shimmery one ( of course) with red (crimson?) sequins all over it! As well as the tree candle, bonbons etc we also had gift wrapped choccies and peppermint candy canes to complete the look. I was amazed at how late the support act came on. That meant Damien would come on really late amazingly, Damien went right through without a break and didn't miss a beat! His voice was perfect and my favourite parts were Beautiful and Baby I Love Your Way. Guaranteed to get me every time And Goodnight brought a lump to my throat. I hope when Damien does put it on his album he sings it as strongly and passionately as he does live... I love the intensity of emotion he can share live. Lol I was in that other world as he was singing the very last note but then woke up with a start as soon as he did those sudden funny little end notes on the piano I like Damien's little chats to introduce his songs normally but I have to say that I didn't mind how he just had a few simpler sing-alongs and almost went straight into the songs with just a short intro this time. Good to see Indy without her arm cast. and I wish I could wear a dress like that... Wow! Jimmy sounded so good, too and is showing that he owns this spot now . Thanks for the info about the album and book progress ladeez. It'll be or two, for sure.

:wavesanta: :rudolf: :sparklexmas: :xmascheer: :xmashug: I am going to be a bit slack this time around and not actually do a report for this show. You girls have all done such a great job already and I am not feeling 100% and have so much going on so I won't get the time now I can say though, we had a great table, right up the front and the sound was fantastic. I decided during the day to buy some BonBons, and Christmas napkins and decorations for the table as I had not been feeling too Christmassy. It ended up looking very festive as Shims added to the table too and a lot of the lovelies were wearing red It was a great show but as mentioned, the audience was very very quiet (well except us of course) but as always, Damien sounded beautiful. The highlight of the night for me was absolutely Baby I Love Your Way with Fall at your Feet! Stunning. As was Beautiful!!!! We had a fantastic night and it was so wonderful to catch up with all the Sydney girls, we really did have a great party, before, during and after the show!

Thanks for all the reports of the nights ladies, it sounds like it was a special event for the Damienites!! Sorry to hear that the rest of the audience was a bit , it is so exciting to go to an event when the crowd is all as well as the Damienites!! I could just picture Eils standing up singing and clapping along, just like she did during Idol, I always used to love seeing her do that on the show!! I bet the t-shirt was the same one he wore in July at Cafe Coast, it was definitely brown, but photographed grey... I will go and look at the photos now to check it out! ooops, no, have just checked it out and it is the t-shirt he work on the red carpet at Telethon under a jacket with a 'Damien tie'. Very sexeh!!

There was a strange thing happen with the support act - Alanna Cherote and I'm not sure if D realises how well he actually did with that crowd. M/s Cherote came out to perform with her guitarist after 8:00pm and the crowd was at that point extremely noisy, talking loudly, drinking, eating and she started singing....no announcement and quite a subdued song and volume. Basically the noise did not lessen when she was singing and she and her partner packed up and walked off. We were initially excited thinking she'd given up and we'd have D a bit earlier....but alas not to be, she insisted on waiting about another 45 mins and came back out and performed....... I suspect she paid them to perform because she also took up 45 mins in time performing. Unfortunately, I couldn't talk Morgs into having dessert (gelato) before her main course drat!! The fact that the crowd was so quiet could also have meant they were actually listening to Damien as it wasn't that quiet for the others. The downstairs members did try to do their little bit with the singing, but the ones upstairs( a younger group) didn't try too hard and the cheering, clapping did make it difficult to hear anyone talking so obviously wasn't totally subdued. Still ............................. a few sticks of dynamite could have been interesting
