Thought I'd start a thread for this, now that we know the name of the album. Maybe we can add the track list and cover art when we get it! ;D We will need a new thread for the single of course! Squeeeeeee! Also, there is the discussion to be had as to what we all think the title means? Damien mentioned to someone (at Lizottes I think?) that he thought we would of worked it out by now!! This got my brain a ticking of course.... My thought is....that the title has come about because the Album is perhaps Damien's Journey from Idol! He would of auditioned in Sydney in June 2006. Remember June! I wonder if it has something to do with that? Not necessarily his Journey, but a starting point. Hmmm the mind boggles!! I really can't wait to find out more.

On the way back home from Lizotte's (Newcastle), Carla came up with a really cool idea about the reason behind the title. I'll let her explain it though, if she wants. That's a good idea too Roxy. So, what do we know about the album so far? The producer is Stuart Crichton. The album sounds like a mixture of Roy Orbison, The Killers, Keane and Radiohead, but not Timbaland. It's very different to Damien's other music, but he think it's his best work so far (and I agree, based on the 3 songs I've heard ). It's supposed to be out in October (but that could change). It has 12 tracks on it (am I just assuming this or did Damien actually say it?) Song titles include: To Get To You Golden Line Sorry Wouldn't Change A Thing Unordinary World Goodnight Stay Forgive Forget Oh and the first single will be a MONSTER smash, according to DC. And finally, it's going to be a really AWESOME album!

I think that's a good idea for the reasons behind 'Remember June', Roxy, though I wonder if Damien would make such a reference to Australian Idol on this album? Perhaps something really obvious then if Damien thought we were clever enough to work it out: Is June his wedding anniversary or the month either Jarvis or Jagger were born in? Not overly creative I know, but you never know!! I like your deductions there Spud!

lol well I have no clue at all about why it's called Remember June - I'm glad Damien had so much faith in us to think we would be able to work it out but I for one have no idea what it could be! Only thing I know for sure - IT'S GOING TO BE FUNTARSTIC

I'm thinking maybe Damien left here for Australia in June? Looking forward to hearing the actual reason!

I agree Tina, I don't think the album is the Idol Journey or any reference to it, but perhaps that month and that time is the starting point of when his life changed (for the better of course). Maybe when he was sitting at the pub with his friends and they all persuaded him to audition. I've heard Carla's theory too, and think its a damn good one. and also Good summary so far Spud. Where We Land was a family/friends orientated album, with most of the songs on it having a reference to that. So maybe this one is more his own personal take on a few things that have happened along the way. I personally don't mind if we never know the reason....I like the intrigue of not knowing. adds a bit of mystery to our man!

Yeah I don't mind the mystery either!!!! Damien mentioned on stage at Lizotte's that the songs from Remember June tell a story from beginning to end but he wasn't going to give away more than that. I think he has said that the story also related to the title??? (forgive me if I misheard that part). At the end of the show, someone asked hm more about the album title or the storyline of the songs and he said "I am surprised you guys haven't worked it out yet".... I, for one, am a bit baffled! I was chatting with Spud on the way home in the train. But I really think my theory is way off now. But I thought it was something to do with a timeline too. If I remember correctly, there are 12 tracks? Damien made a point of telling us what month he wrote the songs in and the album title is Remember JUNE!? So...I wondered if it was something to do with 12 months/year. However, in saying that, when I think about the song titles and what some of them are about, that doesn't make sense now. Damien has said this album has been written from many sources, not just about love and family. It could very well be based on a journey?? From, the time he got here from Ireland until now? We don't know what order the tracks are in, so it would be hard to speculate without the track listing. ARGGGGGHHHH this is doing my head in! We are probably reading WAY too much into it and it might be something so simple and we will all go "Ahhhh I get it now"! Oh....and regarding the album title. I think it has been named for a while. Those of us at the Vanguard (Christmas 2008), he said that the album was going to be out in June and it was because of the title. None of us took it to literally mean the word June was in it! haha.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Loving this, the new album has a title and it's very own thread!! The idea of the title being related to D's personal musical journey over the last three years make a lot of sense to me, when compared to the song titles we know thus far. Although I've only heard acoustic versions of Sorry (has a BIIIG powerhouse finish!) Golden Line ( mega-singalongable with great lyrics!) To Get To You (pacy punchy and catchy!) and it's difficult to remember lyrics after only one listen, I think that's highly possible that the theme he is referring to is something along those lines. Carla, I had to laugh at the look on D's face when he said.."I thought you girls would have worked it out already!" with a sidelong glance and a wink. What A Tease!!! I'm so looking forward to the BIG, EPIC rocky sound this album is going to have. It's soooo exciting. I think I'm going to absolutely LOVE it!!!

It could be his journey since Idol, as you said Trilly, over the last 3 years or I am wondering if it could be his journey since he left Ireland??? This speculation is kinda funny actually IF, the title is related to the story from beginning to end, then, this is very fascinating indeed.

I don't mind mystery either, Bella. 'Tis fun to play the guessing game though If D tells us very little about the tracks, that won't bother me one bit. I enjoy making up my own scenarios.

I think I know what this really is about!!! REMEMBER JUNE = Tax time!! LOL! I too think it would be along the lines of his whole journey starting back in June 2006, it makes sense. Lol If Damien said that, "I'm surprised you guys haven't worked it out yet" It's gotta be pretty straight forward right? Something pretty obvious
