Yes, another lovely night had by all!
Damien was in fine form and the night just flew by!!! I felt like he sang about 4 songs, but the set list indicates that he sang 15!!!
Remember June TGTY Beautiful Unordinary World Horses/Ride on Annies Songs Everybody's talking Nessum Dorma If Tomorrow Never Comes Fields of Ahtersomething A fast irish song Guitar Man Danny Boy Wicked Game Hallelujah
Damien was doing a fabulous job of entertaining the crowd as per usual. The crowd was appreciative without being too loud, altho there were a few loud ones, to be sure! (Particularly MissE who nearly deafened me..... altho I did poke her in the back a few times to send out a wolf whistle on my behalf!! She has a wicked whistle!!)
I have a few photos which I will try to post, but I did not take too many, MissE was snapping away and it looks like some of her shots were fantastic!! Looking forward to seeing her shots
Damien was accompanied by Eric and Cesar, who is another Chilean guitarist and flute player. He played the cutest little guitar thing, and some beautiful pipes ~ a gorgeous way to start Danny Boy! He did very well, as I think he has just joined them for the Perth shows... not sure if Indi will be back again?? I did miss her violin playing during certain songs!
I gave Damien and the band a little present of an Easter basket with some Eggs, a bunny and some Rabbit Ears (these were all given to George before the show, and he told me that they were all eating them backstage!!)...... to my surprise the rabbit ears appeared on stage just before they began and Damien put them on for a short while during the show and said that they were from me!! He looked so cute in them!!!
There was a motley crew of people waiting to see Damien at the end of the show, but you could see that they were keen to hustle him out of the back door into the waiting van. However, he was grabbed by some very determined fans (not me!!) who would not leave without their photo, which he agreed to very graciously of course........ even being manhandled by someone who was very drunk, not pretty!!! I held back a bit because I could see he wanted to go, but he was looking over to me and he leant over and gave me a big hug and kiss and said that he thought I had already left as George told him my DH had wanted to go (which he had). So we had a very very brief chat, but it was lovely to feel special ~ I am soooo lucky, Damien is so kind to me every time!
oh, I forgot to mention that we were all given signed copies of the Forgive/Forget single on our arrival! Damien said later that he was like Oprah giving something to all of the crowd, but he didn't have any cars to give away! He encouraged everyone to download Hallelujah on i-tunes, the most I've ever heard him plug something - finally!!! I think it will be very popular. So great to get a copy of the single for everyone tho!!
Damien is on a plane at about 8am to Melbourne for the telethon, then back in the evening to Perth for the next day's show! They wouldn't have arrived back at their hotel until after midnight tonight! The band were all staying in Perth, and George was wondering what they should do. We suggested the beach or Fremantle.

Thank you Shadow and Tina for yur reports. Tina, it would have been the tin whistle. Did Cesar play it at the start of Remember June too? It is such a lovely intro at the concerts. Fields of Athenry and Rocky Road to Dublin would be the songs that you didn't catch the names of. Great news about the single for everyone. Yes, please do download Hallelujah. I have already bought it and it is superb I have it on repeat. I love it when you get that little bit of personal attention. I mean, after all, what would a visit to Perth be if Damien didn't get a little and from Tina or if he couldn't give Tina a and It just wouldn't seem right Have a nice holiday Tina. Shadow are you going to any more of the Perth shows?

Braffy...... the whistle was made of wood, not tin........ does that make a difference?? He did play it at the start of RJ ~ it was just gorgeous! And yes......... got to love the personal attention to make you feel special!! I like your thinking Braffy...... I'm sure Damien would feel ripped off if he didn't get a and a from me when coming to Perth!!
