Thanks ODT I forgot to mention the old dear sitting in front of me!....she really was quite old and fragile! (so not poking fun at her). When they did STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN!!! OMFG this was BRILLIANT! and Eric did the guitar part, well this lady in front of me couldn't get her hand to her ear fast enough, she was trying frantically to turn her hearing aid down! Later I heard them saying how amazing D was and that he had the BEST voice they had ever heard! Also, one of the friends that came to the show with me, her Ex-husband was playing in a band (he's a guitarist) on the Saturday night and asked us to rock on down to watch him play! He was playing in an Irish pub (of course ) so my DH and I decided to go and catch a few toones that night. Well the first thing that I noticed was his guitar! it's the same one that D uses! the flame one! ;D He plays in 3 different bands (cover bands) in Mackay on the weekends. They were really good, and the drummer was testing out for the first time his bongo drums and they sounded brilliant! I kept thinking thats just what D needs to add some percussion to his shows. They were small and weren't too loud! They were singing songs from Cold Chiesel to Eagles etc. I'll be back later to upload a few photos I took

Glad to hear Roxy that you had a fantastic night. OMG, your friend pulling out a coaster for D to sign. As for "Golden Line", you should've shouted it out and reminded him. Thank you for your wonderful report Roxy.

Great report Roxy and sounds like another memorable show Has there ever been one that is not? We all have our favorites from RJ and hope to hear them at the concert we are at but unfortunately we cannot except for the State Theatre performance and as a new member I have never stated my favorite songs and they are in order. Golden line See you again Goodnight Stay Would not change a thing Forgive Forget---(full band best for this) Would love to a have a DVD of his shows such as a combination of the BASEMENT SHOW AND lIZOTTES not only to have for ourselves but to shows friends and others just how good he is in a live performance

Your faves a re pretty much mine too, b. Fantastic report Roxles! ;D bwha!.. aww, ain't D a sweetie ? .. but a silly? I bet he felt awful about forgetting to sing Golden Line for you, he worries about stuff like that. I bet you get it in Gympie though, dedicated to you for your birthday. That'll be extra special. Sounds like you and your friends had a whole lotta fun. Liking the sound of "small and intimate" but not the sound of rubber fish. Eww.. NOT good. Hehe, had to chuckle at the lady adjusting her hearing aid for "Stairway".. man, the ROCKS, doesn't it??? and when D sings the " a aa aaaaaahs" at the end it's totally magical, it seems like it isn't even coming from him.. What a VOICE! Rest up now for Gympie and enjoy your few days off.. but knowing you, you'll be rushing around doing something. Have to nail your feet to the floor one day!

;D Fantastic reporting Roxy Who was with the band and what did Damien wear? Were the sisters impressed that you knew Damien and that Damien knew you or were they already aware of that?

Roxy it was another wonderful report. Pity about the bad food. Some of the venues do need a kick up the a**** for the bad food they serve. Lucky we forget all about it as soon as Damien starts singing.

;D Fantastic reporting Roxy Who was with the band and what did Damien wear? Were the sisters impressed that you knew Damien and that Damien knew you or were they already aware of that? There was Eric, Asha and D, and for us that was great to have Eric! he quite often doesn't come our way usually because of his work comittments, as it was he only just got back from overseas again before the Cairns show! His guitar playing is outathisworld! ;D I think my friends were more impressed with getting to meet a STAR themselves than knowing that I'd met him before! they couldn't stop talking about how they had met a celebrity and how nice he was!...no arguments from me there! I was just so glad to get to this show, as I wasn't sure if the girls could even make it, as they were camping that weekend and drove down to meet me from the coast, which was a very long drive back to Mackay from where they were staying! it was one of the reasons I didn't buy the front row, a couple of empty seats a row back wouldn't of looked as bad as 3 empty front rows in the front! The room where Damien played was upstairs and when I walked into it I was surprised how sparce it felt! I think that's the word I'm looking for, behind Damien on stage were floor to ceiling windows with no curtains, it was just the night sky, a few times he was playing and I saw a plane going over! it was quite weird actually, but nice. Felt like we were outside almost! ;D Thanks guys for your lovely comments

I loved reading all the report of your evening Roxy, it sounded like you had a fantastic night! Love the sound of the night sky behind Damien there as he was playing, that would have been beautiful! So fantastic that Damien sang your request of "Stay" - wow that would have been gorgeous, it's so rare too and would have been perfect on the keyboards!! Was really keen to hear how you liked the new version of Stairway to Heaven, isn't it awesome!! Ah, poor lady getting her hearing adjusted in time. Have been reading the most amazing reviews of the Queensland tour and it's so great to see so many new audiences stunned by how great Damien is live like you were saying of some of the people you overhead - it's fantastic Damien has been able to do some regional areas this tour and so many are seeing him for the first time and now know what we all rave about!!
