OMG!!!
This show was AMAZING!!
I don't even know where to begin! so much happened over this weekend that I'm not even going to start trying to piece it all together! Just to say Erinbella, Sister and I had soooo much fun!!
We had just the best time together, celebrating my Birthday with Bella was brilliant, I'm so glad I got to share it with her
I'll go straight into the show info...I know that's what you all want to hear, so I won't babble on too much or I won't stop.....
We got to Gympie (surprisingly quite a large town) and went to the RSL where Damien was to play to check out the venue, as we needed to see how far it was from our Motel as to whether or not we could walk! We decided as much as it was a healthy walk, we opted to order a courtesy bus!
We rocked up and had dinner, and were joined by Lynlest
who had come to the show also, she told us she had been to the Rockhampton show, Gladstone, Hervey Bay, this one and was going to the Tewantin one as well! (she has given me the set list etc for the 3 shows before Gympie so I'll add them to the threads a bit later) it was great to catch up and find out how the other QLD shows had gone too. We then went upstairs to line up at the door (this was one of those...scramble for your life to the front type of shows
)
I'm sorry but I don't have a set list again!

FANTASTIC Set list!
the crowd absolutely loved every minute of this show and they were very much into everything, the singing parts, the clapping, some calling out (YOUR A LEGEND)....Damien made a joke of it and said .... Why Thank you, I'm a Leg - End did you say!!
When Damien did Wicked Game and he gets the audience to participate in the HIGH parts, after awhile he stopped and looked at Bella and I, and he said to the audience, as we were celebrating our birthdays that he thought that we should be the only ones to sing it!!!!
on our own!!! and told everyone else not to sing!!
the room went quiet and Bella and I were left sitting there looking at each other like a couple of nongs!!
Sis nearly peed her pants from laughing so hard!
and Damien's got his ear out listening for our HEEEEHEEEEE part! (which never came
)We said we did it! you just couldn't hear it!
He then says, it must of been so high pitched that only the dogs could hear it! and said he could hear them howling outside!
OMG we wanted the ground to swallow us up! it was sooo funny! We told him later that if we had thought fast enough, we should of started singing ....Row Row Row your boat gently down the stream...
At interval, there was a HUGE line up for CD's and books, the room was packed, so probably about 180 or more, they had had to bring chairs in from outside to add more seating so that was great. Heaps of Toilet talk, about how amazing he was, funny as, and just so wonderful. All very positive! and nothing we didn't already know!!
After interval, Bella and I got a Happy Birthday sung to us from Damien!
omg it was so gorgeous of him, he started off by saying that he had a couple of wonderful friends in the front that he'd known for years! and that as it was our birthdays, he'd like to sing to us. (At this point, Bella yelled out that it wasn't her birthday today (yesterday), only mine!
Damien says...oh, so it's not your birthday? Bella goes, mines on Wednesday!)
So Damien says, well we'll sing for both of your birthdays, he then decided to give us a nic-name!!!
it was so funny! (we won't say what it was, as it includes our real names) he then sung Happy Birthday to us....and so did the whole room!
it was lovely I nearly cried
Damien then said he was going to sing a song requested by us....... GOLDEN LINE on the Piano and it ROCKED!!!
Thank you so much Damien, it was brilliant!
There was soo much happening at this show, as I said the crowd loved it! as did we! Asha was smiling at us all night, as we were really getting into it (as we do, haha).
Damien did a signing, and the queue was huge, as we were sitting back waiting to see Damien (I had tired legs so was sitting close to the line + I was older that day!
), I noticed that Eric and Asha were also getting their own signing going! A few people were getting them to sign their posters and stuff as well while they waited for Damien's line to get smaller
, so that was really nice!
They were drawing a picture of Asha's violin on the posters, I think Eric's turned out better!
OMG so much more I could say, but I have too much to do right now to finish this off, mabye on Tuesday when Bella gets back she can add some too.
Thank you Damien, Eric and Asha for an amazing show!! and Thank you Sis and Bella for a great weekend.
