Well...I drove to Cronulla and back! It was good to know this venue ...though the great sound/general groovy ambience were somewhat negated by the lack of a coffee machine (no after-gig Tea Party ) Oh yes..the music...! Wondeful line up. Everyone on stage was in very fine form. Totally loved the mix of the Andean sounds & the Irish influences. Quena had me simultaneously entranced and emotionally messed up ... Zampoñas (pan flutes) were amazing in Annies song! D was vocally 110% (or was it more?) Brilliant!! Love the arrangements of Beautiful, Annie's Song, Danny Boy Personally think they outshine the recorded versions easily... D & co have been showing was amazing muso's they are with so many fantastic vocal & instrumental arrangements . And such a beautiful gesture for Shims birthday For All Of Time sounded magical (not sure why this song doesn't get more of an airing....?) Witty anecodotes and general patter from the stage - very funny...crowd very appreciative. (lol re: Eric stuffing up and doing the dancing penance...) Lovely way to end the KS tour for me - thanks to everyone for a funtarstic night!

Love the reports here, thanks to Anny, Trilly, Shims and Morgs. Shims, what a wonderful birthday you must have had These shows sound really special and a bit different to what I have seen before, obviously the audience loves them too.

Trilly, you left out I Don't Like Mondays and Kiss and Guitar Man / Stairway To Heaven and Hallelujah. Omgosh, heaps of those songs have changed since I last heard them a month ago. LOVE the new Guitar Man / Stairway To Heaven ending. And that was the best version of Danny Boy I've ever heard. Was so nice of Damien to sing Shims a birthday song. Thanks so much for requesting For All Of Time, Shims, I loved it! D was so funny last night. And the crowd was awesome! ;D All singing along and there were a few people making jokes and stuff. I noticed that Damien's improved at playing the bodhrán too. Definitely one of my favourite shows ever! Great venue. Was so nice of Damien to see us afterwards as well. My friends who came with me especially enjoyed that, I think.

Wow, thanks so much for all the reports girls . What a fabulous night you all had! It sounds like a beautiful venue but for no coffee venues for afterwards Damien and his musicians sound like they have really gelled with a great sound - interesting influences.

AND omfg.. *SWOOOOOOOOOOOOOON* we heard one bar and several s screamed rather loudly and had a meltdown. Soo, sooo sexy!! [image] Spud, that was when Trilly was going to talk about 'Kiss' but she was too much in D land and teh coma, plus I was witnessing how many times her computer logged her out. She had a really bad connection at the hotel. I hope she remembered to complain about it. Everytime she would press 'reply' she would lose it. The backbutton and the swear jar got a work out all right.
And omgosh at the beep! [image] I have to hear this haha! Krissy, it has been posted for several days (by Nuffy) in the 2Day FM thread. At the end of the thread is a podcast for 14/4/10. All I have to say about the concert last night is It was also my last one. I know I would rather be in Newcastle right about nowI was quite disappointed when I arrived at the venue and saw that there was no advertising out the front for Damien performing there that night when the girls pointed me to the black board in front of the door. SOLD OUT I had been looking up higher and hadn't seen the blackboard. I am pleased that your friends enjoyed it Spud. We had friends of Dawns who don't get out much at our table and they loved it. They thought Damien was amazing. It was lovely for Damien to sing Happy Birthday to Shims. This same time last year we were to have attended a concert at Lizotte's Central Coast and it was unfortunately postponed, so Shims missed her party, so it was especially nice that she had it one year later. Shims, thank you so much for requesting For All Of Time. Damien was 150% perfect with it. OMG he sounded great. I loved hearing Universal Soldier too. It has always been one of my favourites off Catch The Wind, and Damo you were terrific. People were mesmerised by it and I know that I was taking in all the words (which I also do when I play my CTW CD). I have a BIG complaint about the venue. We were there before the doors opened, so at 7pm when they did we went straight to our table. A meal was included in our ticket. The meals took so long to come out that by the time our mains were delivered, Damien was walking onto the stage. We had the very front table and none of us wanted to eat in front of Damien while he was singing. Carla quickly ate the prawns off the top of her pasta, Trilly and I didn't touch ours and Dawn secretly picked little bits and pieces (hiding behind me I think while she was doing it). I noticed that Shims and Morgs didn't eat theirs straight away either. We waitied until the interval to eat but of course by then the meals were really cold and not very nice. Trilly sent hers back and so did Carla. I don't know what Morgs and Shims and b/f did. Damien didn't come on until around 9.20-9.30 or so, so it is totally unacceptable. They should have made sure that the front tables had their meals promptly. No one has mentioned that Diana Rouvas was the support act again. She was there both nights. That is why Damien came on at the later time. I have told Dawn that if any of her friends who are going tonight are sick and can't go then she is to let me know immediately and I will be on my way. We handed out a couple of business cards. Trilly was talking to a couple of people next to our table. After the show I asked them if they enjoyed it and they said tht they had. I asked if they had seen Damien before and they said they had seen him 9 times They thought last night was better than Revesby. I told them that I had been at Revesby too and mentioned that Dawn and Trilly were going tonight to Newcastle. lucky buggarsI found out later that when Trilly had been talking to them they mentioned that they knew who we were. Knew Dawn, Carla, myself and that she was Trilly Apparently, they have been following this forum for a number of years but have never signed up- hence the reference by Trilly to Brian and Barbara Join up B & B and then we can talk properly. It was also good to see that the book was on sale last night I will write more if I think of it. Once again I thank my room mates and my show buddies for another awesome time.

It's cracking me up that I wrote all about how much we swooned but forgot to mention that the song was KISS! :lmao Oh and yes, I Don't Like Mondays, D's "interlude" as he calls it was fab too. I love the rockier songs so much! Eric's "stairway knocks me out. Awsome evening all round with brilliant company ..though yeah Braff, the meal situation wasn't the best. Dawnie mentioned the crappy internet connection for me too. I'm going to miss you all when this tour is over.

All I can say................. I wish I was there!! You girls make all the concerts sound fantastic, but this one sounds particularly brilliant (except for the annoying food part Braffy, and that is very slack to serve you at 9.30!! At Cafe Coast all three courses are served and eaten before Damien comes on at 8.45pm!!) Shims, I'm so pleased you got a birthday song ~ and what a perfect request, I would love to hear FAOT live!

Wonderful reports ladies thank you. I did get a personal report from Trills and Dawn at Lizottes about the night before and it sounded great. As it turned out, if I had known we would make such good time up to Sydney I probably could have gone to the second concert. We arrived at Campbelltown around 4.00 and decided to stay there and avoid the Friday peak hour Sydney traffic, but now I know it's do-able to get there in a day (for another time).
