Wow, what a funtarstic set list! ;D (Even without the U2 songs. ) Seriously though, the set lists have definitely been improving since the start of the tour, IMO. Sounds like an awesome show! Thanks Shims and Morgs.

I saw Dragon with Mark Williams as lead singer a coupler of years ago on the Gold Coast. And April Sun was and always will be the big favourite it bought the house down. Grat reports from last night, hope we have as much fun next week. Damien is in fine form.

It was such a great night, all the music and good times still in my head, was just brilliant! Am just going to edit my set-list, I went back and listened to my Corrs album "Forgiven Not Forgotten" and that instrumental that Damien blended straight into from "Unordinary World" was "Along With the Girls". We are just so lucky with the lineup of Damien, Indi & Eric, what musicianship, they are incredible!!! I was thinking again tonight how wonderful "Ride On" was and the amazing arrangement Eric did with the solo in it as well, it just took it to a whole other level. That song has been in my mind ever since last night, Damien's version is absolutely haunting, he's done it again and for me, yes, it's now the definitive version!!!

Shims I know what you mean about that song Ride On! It took 3 shows before I really appreciated it, and it has also stuck in my head. There is something about the way Damien sings this that really gets me! I'm not familiar with the song at all, and I love that there is no falsetto in it, he just sings it in his Middle register? It's so mesmerizing.

Great reportage, Shims! ;D When I read that D didn't know "April Sun In Cuba" I went "Wha??" Then I remembered that Dragon where a Kiwi/Aussie band that D had probably never heard, being such a babe in arms when they were HUGE! and not living here then! But EVERY Aussie knows that song, don't they? One of the best singalong songs ever! Sounds like an excellent night out all round, including your Hut. but now I just HAVE to ask morgs about Panama hats next time I see her! Red rag to a bull...

OMG Shimmery, I'm still over your upside down, back-to-front notebook with consecutive show reports! Lol I wish I was that organised! (consecutive... not the upside-down part! hehe) What a wonderful night out with a great bunch of friends - the lovely Shimmery, Morgs and their other halves, plus my invitees! My uninitiated-in-D friends were stunned by his powerful voice and were amazed by Damien's range of songs and notes. Funny thing though is that I'd get a tap n the shoulder occasionally to get asked "Did he write that one too?" Thanks Shimmery for the fantastic wrap-up of the songs and wardrobe report. Definitely a complete list and it was just awesome to hear Beautiful make an appearance on the list and even If Tomorrow Never Comes ! I don't think I've ever heard that one live we were very lucky to get a sneaky taste of the acoustic See You Again - one of my absolute favs on the album. (It probably could do with a bit more punchy beat, live - not sure if the violin works with it ... but Indi can sure work that instrument beautifully!) I agree with both Shimmery and Morgs that the Marconi crowd were a bit on the conservative side - just not into the singing that much (lol it meant I sounded louder in poor hubby's ears). I'm guessing that may have more to do with the fact we were packed into their tables like sardines! That would have to be one of my few complaints about the night Maybe everyone would've been more relaxed and loose if we could've turned our chairs around a bit to face the front instead of having our chairs jammed tight on tables for 30!! Lol it was hard dodging heads to try to see Damien from where I was sitting sometimes. But the sound rang through and when I closed my eyes it didn't matter! I found some of the traditional Irish music mesmerising but I wasn't familiar with most of them. I really would've loved to have had some more up-beat music that I knew. Just love To Get To You for that reason Damien had to clear out pretty quick that night cause he was on an early flight to get to Merimbula the next day and then another show after that. So no signings but had a mini-chat at the end of the night seeing as the loo was right next to the back-stage steps as they were packing to go! I didn't hold him up though I loved hearing Damien talking about his boys being allowed to stay up that night (not a school night lol) and occasionally you'd hear a little voice pipe up - seeming to call out something about daddy - so sweet! In the second half Damien said we'd all have to keep the noise down cause they were going off to sleep Lol Definitely not needed when D's on - especially when doing his solo set. siiigh...
