Can't say I agree with your "non-pro" camera suggestion at all venues, Shims. It doesn't make any ifference how long your lens is these days. "Prosumers" or any decent digital camera can do great job. The differentiation is meaningless, in my opinion. Since Damien never minds having his photo taken, I guess the only people they feel they are protecting by banning cameras are the professionals who sell their shots. However, I haven't seen too many of them about lately. Sorry for the digression, but it's a subject that is close to my heart. I think just allow cameras and be done with it. What are we going to do with them, except perhaps help to advertise their venue and Damien here and elsewhere? It really makes no logical sense to me. As someone who loves photography myself Trilly that was what I was meaning when I wrote about the non-pro cameras (ie someone standing there with a foot long lens), that it would be great for all amateur enthusiasts to be able to be allowed to take pics at shows if the artists were happy about it (which Damien has always said he is).

I'm glad we are in agreement then. However as I've said, it's hard to tell a "pro" camera from a non-pro these days. Now, white Canon lenses might be the give away.. they cost around 10K each! bwhaha!! Only in my dreams....*siigh* Cheers.

I think photos should be allowed. We are paying to see a show and it's nice to be able to take a memory away from it. Is not like there is a market to make money from selling them. People only take them for personal use.
As long as the artist is happy with it and it's not too many to make it annoying or distracting.

Frances, so glad to hear you had a great night after waiting 1 1/2 years. Watching Damien play the piano you can definitely tell he loves it. Ange, Remember June is my favourite album of Damien's too ;D and I think we would all love to hear "Wouldn't Change A Thing" live. I love Sky. Thank you both for your reports.

One last point re cameras. As Dawn pointed out, casinos in particular seem to be very twitchy about them. I'd forgotten that. Security, I guess. Thanks for the reports again, ladies.

Sky on piano was a big highlight. I've heard him sing it live before but I think that was about 3 years ago. 21 months is beyond a drought, I'm just glad the wait is over. I don't know how long it will be before I see him again but I'm going to make sure it's not 21 months Yes, should be able to take pics. It's pretty much ridiculous that at some concerts you can't. The woman came over and told me to put my camera away like I had committed an offence. and at interval she said to me 'don't take any more photos' and I said to her something like I can't take photos? I did last time and then took a couple more after that anyway ha. What's really annoying me now is that I can't upload anything. If I plug in the camera to usb on comp my camera automatically switches off and if I put the memory card in the comp it won't read it. It's doing my head in. I can't even upload my pic with D. Might have to try and upload on a friends comp or something, don't know. My comp is past it's best (obviously)
