From the folk tunes of the Dubliners and Christy Moore, to the smash hits of U2, the legendary tunes of Van Morisson and Damien Rice to the Operatic sounds of John McCormack, audiences will be treated to a musical fusion showcasing Damien’s development as a performer since he first landed on the Australian music scene in 2006 when won the 4th season of Australian Idol. Of his upcoming shows Damien said "My Irish background is incredibly important to me and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to take this show to the stage." Since REMEMBER JUNE debuted in Australia audiences and critics alike have been mesmerised by Damien’s pop-rock tracks and new found sound, comparative to the likes of U2, Keane, Roy Oribson and Coldplay.

This was a fantastic show and the audience absolutely loved Damien ! They were really into it, singing and clapping along. I found my seat a few minutes before starting time and was seated next to Lynlest. I was in the front row but not directly in front which is a good thing I suppose as Damien would have probably thought to himself "oh no, not her again". Damien was dressed in a red t-shirt with purple printing, blue jeans, black shoes and a black jacket. I love him in red. Damien was in fine form with the jokes/funny stories and everyone loved them. The setlist was similar to the previous concerts. The only different song was "IF". I absolutely love "Fields Of Athenry". At the interval, I went and found Houndsy and said hello. She had won 2 free tickets to the concert but I think she ended up just going by herself. I could see that a lady at the table kept looking at me taking notes. She couldn't understand why I was doing it and so I had to explain it to her. Eric was there and came on for one song. I think it was Hallejulah. After the show Lynlest, Houndsy and I went over to the side of the stage to say a quick hello to Eric. I gave him a hug and he gave me a kiss. He looked tired as I think he had just gotten back from India. He will be playing with Damien for the rest of the tour as Jimmy is going into the navy. Lynest and I decided that we would go as we didn't expect Damien to come out. We had already seen him at Toowoomba and Redcliffe. I would hate for him to ever feel obliged that he has to come out and say hello to us. When we left Houndsy was still there and I heard from a reliable source that she had managed to get backstage and spend some time with Damien. It is just too bad that Houndsy is no longer a member of this forum as she could have come on here and gave us details of what happened backstage. I would imagine, it would have been interesting.

Braffy, Lynlest took some fantastic shots of Damien at the concert and I asked her whether she would be posting them. Her reply was that for some reason she has trouble posting.

Thanks so much for that report Bella! I love hearing that the crowd really gets into the shows, and claps and sings along ;D Good to see Eric back too! Sounds like another fantastic show! That's a shame we couldn't hear Houndsy's report too But I'm sure seeing Damien backstage was great.

Classic moment. As Damien sang the first few bars of Wicked Game an audible gasp of 'Oh my God' as one member realized what she was going to hear. Whole crowd erupted with fits of laughter Damien included. Took him a few moments to compose himself.
